20 games in 29 days...

By my count the Cavs start tonight in Philly with 20 games in 29 days to end the season. Game is on national TV (NBA) so I thought I'd stir the pot.

Bunch of teams with about as many wins as the Cavs. Bobcats are clearly gonna get the most lottery balls, and I think they are assured of at least a top 4 pick. The Wiz and Hornets are equally bad in the "2nd" tier.

Pisstons, Raptors, Nets and Kings are all right with us. But I think this stretch of back to back to back to back to back games puts us in the drivers seat for a probable* 4th pick. And there's not much fluff on the remaining schedule either.

And by the way they are playing tonight it could be lower.

Don't need an injury to Kyrie right now. Based on what I've seen the last five games, this team can't beat anybody. They were competitive with a lot of teams before losing Varajao, Boobie, and Sessions, but the roster is too thin to lose those three and still expect to beat anybody.

At one point last night the team on the floor consisted of Sloan, Walton, Casspi, Samuels, and Manny Harris. That's brutal. The Cavs could release all of them tomorrow and I wonder if any of them would even get a phone call.

Fortunately Andy's broken wrist is taking a lot longer to heal than expected.

Here is the thing, neither are great prospects but you can see something in Biyombo on the court. And he can dunk, which TT cannot do (this kills me). Plus Biyombo plays like a true center which I value a TON over a four. In todaus NBA I want a four that can score.

The interesting thing about both TT and BB is that both of their minutes have doubled since January but the increased PT is not leading to better production, except for better free throw shooting. They both cracked 50% from the stripe, so that's something at least.

By the way, that "monster" February of Biyombo's amounted to 5.5 pts and 6.9 rebounds in 24 minutes per game. Whoa.

As for TT, I have to admit I'm disappointed. His FG% for March is even worse than BB's at 40.7%. Also, his rebounds and blocks are down even though he's playing more minutes. To be fair he's playing out of position, but maybe he hit the wall, too. I think his legs are tired because he's dunking balls into the front of the rim, which is hard to do when you're 6'9" and have a 38" vertical. Either that or he needs glasses.

The Cavs are going to have him work with Z on his offensive game this summer. Not sure I get that because they are/were two completely different players. That would be like Kevin Love tutoring Jared Sullinger or something. I can't see TT knocking down 18-foot set shots. But we'll see if he can be at least semi-decent after an off-season working on his offensive game plus getting to play 30 minutes a night at his natural position.

I'm actually good with the take that this is an opinion is based on the eye test, pun intended. So long as you are talking about opinions on prospects and the subjectivity is overtly acknowledged and ur not being a soul dog just talking shit.

Nice game by the Cavs last night. Jamison has officially given up on the season. He put up 4 shots in 30 minutes and three of them were 3-pointers. Definitely no interest in getting bumped around. And he was a huge contributer to that defense that held the Bucks to only 99 points through three quarters.

The Cavs bench exploded for 13 points in 88 minutes. Walton moves like he has a five pound weight attached to each ankle. I can't believe he'll get $6 million next year. Casspi bricked four 3-pointers. It's painful to watch some of these guys. I don't know who the Cavs will take with their second round picks, but I'm sure they'll easily make the team.

I understand your point but I'm confident Byron will figure out how to make it work. Just off the top of my head, I can see KI and Andy running a pick-and-roll on one side of the floor while the 2 and 3 spot up at the 3-point line and TT crashes the glass from the weak side. This assumes they acquire a 2 and 3 that can knock down 3-point shots in FA or the draft.

I think Andy and TT will generate at least 14 points per game on offensive rebounds even if the Cavs never run a play for either of them. After watching TT haul down 9 offensive boards last night I'm looking forward to seeing him and Andy crash the boards. Maybe we'll get a sneak preview the last week or two of the season if Andy's wrist ever comes around.
