Won the finals in 6 a few nights ago. Led the league in BA and OBP. Not bad for a team that didn't skimp on pitching.

Variance setting in on the Dodgers. Three guys were hurt in one game, including catcher Charles Johnson. Unfortunately the computer did not replace him with Mike Piazza -- although Lenny Harris may actually be as good a catcher as Piazza.

I have 9 teams right now.

1 just rolled their way into the semis. 7 in midseason. 1 in preseason (where waivers run in 2 hours and some asshole hasn't even read the trade offer I sent him yet).

I'm not sure I like this mystery card thing much. It drives me nuts that I can't look at and pick specific cards.

I'm not much of a fan of mystery card either (IMO it takes away a significant part of the skill needed to put together a legit team and then manage it), although doing it with you guys is at least entertaining somewhat.

It cannot be overstated how addicting this is once you get both feet in the water.

I'm sitting on two credits that are daring my to jump into other leagues right now, and hopefully I'm looking at two more free ones in about 2 weeks.

League managers come from all walks of life and Northeast Ohio locales. Every other Thursday, in a 100-game schedule that runs from late February to when a World Series champion is finally crowned in September, they share in the joy of a game and each other.
"We all love baseball," said Mike Meissner, 57, of Fairview Park, the league's founder and commissioner. "That's what we have in common."
Strat-O-Matic is based on statistically accurate Major League Baseball player cards and the probability of dice. When combined, devoted players say they get swept up in the realism and strategy they don't find in video games or fantasy leagues.
Boys usually pass through "Strat" on their way to routine and responsibility. But somewhere along the way, the managers of the WBA decided they didn't want to let it go.
