What a good situation the Jets have going for them now. There's no way that could blow up on them.

I've not bought into the NYC hate.

I even liked Jeremy Lin (a truly great sports story, unlike Tebow).

This will be my breaking point with NYC. I may have to divorce myself from the city entirely.

I love NYC. I have no problem with most of their sporting franchises, unlike most.

But I do love to hate the Jets. There's just so much about that team to dislike.

This convinces me that the Jags will be in LA, London, El Paso or somewhere in the next couple of years. No way do you not give up a 4th to pack your stadium for 4-5 years and make boat loads of money for a franchise that has to tarp off seats. Blaine Gabbert hasnt shown nearly that much yet.

Cromartie just took to Twitter bitching about bringing in Tebow instead of weapons to support the Sanchize.

This is going to end hilariously.

Could be.

But it's a brilliant move to support your supposed franchise QB (whom you just gave a big extension) by bringing in a guy who the fans will be chanting for somewhere around Preseason Week 2.

I think I saw something similar to this when a guy I knew threw 6 M80's into a portojohn.

Sanchez: Well, I’m honored to have you here as my backup, Tim. Whatever guidance you need to help learn this offense, I am here to mentor you as you see fit.

Ryan: (chokes on donut)

Tebow: Oh, I intend to win the starting job.

Sanchez: Yeah, right! Keep dreaming! I got an extension! I’m good, right coach?

Ryan: Uhhh…

Sanchez: Coach?

Ryan: It’s an open competition, Nacho.

Sanchez: GASP! I thought you had faith in me!

Ryan: Son, I don’t have faith in anything except the taste of a fine cigar and pertness of sixteen-year-old thighs. You two dimestore Rick Mirers are gonna have to duke it out on the field.

Tebow: An opportunity is all I ask for.

Sanchez: Yeah well, I have a better arm! (throws ball, hits ceiling fan by accident)

Tebow: (throws ball, magical golden sheep appears and catches it in its teeth)

Each home game Tebow flies a disadvantaged youth into town and spends time before and after the game with him/her...

Should fly each of Cromartie's kids and their mother(s) in for a home game this season.

Be kids and mothers flying in from all over the globe. Logistical nightmare.

Plus the trade has hit a snag and is being held up due to TT's contract language or some shit (for real).

Probably some old testament language that requires an aramaic holy man to decipher.

part of me hoping this trade goes through...

Imagining Sanchez and Tebow rooming together. Sanchez brings home a 17 yr-old from the club and after he's done with her she stays and watches iCarly reruns with Tim.

part of me hoping Tebow somehow ends up with the Jags...

I'm a sucker for a homecoming story. I got a little misty when Poove moved back.

If the trade breaks down it will be because of the Jets. There's apparently a $5 million payment to the Broncos in his contract that the Jets might not want to pay.

As much as you love beating that dead horse, this one's got nothing to do with Goodell.

The Broncos can waive it. The contract calls for the repayment of pro-rata share of bonuses and other moneyz already paid by the Broncos. It's not Tebow's contract forcing the issue it hand.

The Broncos traded him and then told the Jets, oh by the way, we worded Tebow's contract in a manor that we want money back for him!!!!

And as with tax credit recapture, the gov't can waive it... here Daddy Goodell can easily tell the Bronco's to waive it.

Might have to wait for the 18 game schedule.

Anyway, this is one of those "I'm just a common guy hump what do I know" situations, but any organization that brings this guy in had better be in one of two categories:

1. Have a dead guy currently at the position, and want to generate some heat/attendance.

or

2. Have a QB situation so rock solid that it's crystal clear from the jump that Tebow's role is going to be as a contributor in special packages.

For a team that has a shaky QB, a guy who the fans are losing faith in.....Good holy Christ, am I that GD smart to realize what a horrible F'ing idead this is.

Gonna be a circus. Maybe a bit of a different circus from last year, but a circus none the less.

Seriously dude? You're reaching pretty far for examples of how "Cleveland fans are teh dumbest ever!"

When we can go back in time, have Tebow drafted by the Jags, have him become the undoubted best player in the league, lead his team to one Superbowl and multiple NFC Championship games, throw the last game (allegedly) and leave the Jags in teh most arrogant way possible to go play with Calvin Johnson and Adriene Peterson...

Then you can bag on Cleveland when Jacksonville shows no LBJ style hate.

Hmm... I missed the day where Holmgren said (or it was shown) that they asked Lamonte who they should hire to fill their coaching openings. I know LaMonte represents Holmgren, Heckert, Shurmur, Childress and Whipple.

Apparently they failed to consult Lamonte on: (inhales) Dick Jauron, Chris Tabor, Dwaine Board, Gary Brown, Nolan Cromwell, Bill Davis, Tim Hauck, Steve Hagen and Mike Wilson (breathes again). Plus all the assistants.

Lamonte also represents John Fox who was wanted by a number of people here. Badly.

He also represents Andy Reid, Rick Smith, GM of the lauded Texans, and Lake Dawson.

Like I said, if you wanna squawk, squawk. Just squawk completely and not selectively. It takes away from the credibility of the actual and factual and legit complaints people have. And there are dozens. I understand that. More every day I'm afraid.

But the bottom line is Lamonte represents less than 15% of the Browns front office, coaches, coordinators, assistants, etc.

The Browns he represents make up less than 20% of his clientele when you do the math.

Good Lord, are we blaming Holmgren for everything or are we moving to his agent now?

Jesus. You can fail a test and get 59% of the material correct. You're still failing for sure. But you didn't fuck up EVERY SINGLE THING.

It's not just Cleveland, but Tim Tebow just turned down a chance to save his hometown to go to the NYC Market.

That is something that, while not the same as LBJ, would have been equivalent to LBJ being drafted by the Cavs and refusing to come here.

It deserves being pointed out, because no one will bitch about it, because it didn't happen to.... YOU.

Rest assured, next time an NBA player demands a trade to a not small market someone here will jump all over said NBA player, while Tebow will be banging nuns in NYC and smoking stogies while happily thanking gawd he's not in J-Ville (aka his home).

You have a point, but wouldn't that require someone (who doesn't have their head up their ass) to consider Tebow a "savior" of some sort?

Sure, like Tebow himself (which we know he considers himself) and half the morons in this country?

And lets not forget, LBJ played out his contract, every day of it, reupped once and was a Free Agent. It's not like he demanded out of Cleveland ala Melo.

My God, you have issues trying to tie everything to some NFL Sucks agenda.

1. Who gives a flying fuck about Tebow?
2. It's not even effing close to Tebow being drafted by Jacksonville and refusing to go there.
3. Cleveland supported good basketball for years before LBJ. Jacksonville has NEVER supported their football team.
4. If Cleveland ain't Akron and Akron is LBJ's home, then Jackson ain't Ponte Vedra and Jacksonville ain't home.
5. Who give a flying fuck about Tebow?
6. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tebow was being allowed to pick whether he wanted to play for the Jets or Jaguars. However Schefter, a former Broncos beat reporter, contradicted himself shortly thereafter, tweeting: "Denver says it will do the trade that is best for its franchise. Jets or Jags."

You really should know which of those happened before you come wagging your finger at us. ;-) ;)

Shefter cleared that up on ESPN News chief, like more than cleared it up, actually gave Tebow's rational.

And again, you guys wear your NFL Starz are good DUDEZ AND NBA is evil hoodies all you want.

I'll keep being the only one smart enough to not differentiate between them.

Tebow just did EXACTLY what you claim only happens in the NBA and HE DID IT TO HIS HOMETOWN, A PLACE WITH A CLEARER ROLE TO STARTING TOO.

Although today would have been a great day to start a "Just Another Day In The NFL" thread. Would have really supported all of the suck and all.

Shame I didn't want to be a troll.

So Tim Tebow turned down home for the New York media market and a better chance to win. FOR SHAME LEBRON JAMES

Ooops. Where'd that come from?

Sarcastic reaction is one thing, again, I didn't prance into your forum where you have no choice but to read me (the unfollow button is real) and start a "Just Another Day In The NFL" thread.

So, you've got that.

Also, even if Tebow isn't as good as LBJ (or Colt), his star is probably even bigger, so there is that too.........

::doh::

It's sad when smart posters are so blinded by hatred/inter-league jealousy that they lose their perspective.

Honestly, for someone not trolling and stopping just short of "Another Day in the NBA" you look like you're trolling, sound like you're trolling and are trolling like your're trolling.

If the trade breaks down it will be because of the Jets. There's apparently a $5 million payment to the Broncos in his contract that the Jets might not want to pay.

As much as you love beating that dead horse, this one's got nothing to do with Goodell.

Pup's looking for a way to hang it on Holmgren as I write this. He and Mattvan are on the horn working it through...

:hide:

The guy that notorized the contract is a Lamonte client.

9 and 23.

Anyhooo, I thought the fair and balanced crowd are willing to admit that Holmgren is not beyond criticism? So I choose to point out that the guy makes bad decisions. As do all dudes in his position from time to time. Big Mike seems to make more than his fair share, though. Asking Bob Lomonte for advice on who to hire for coaching openings might have something to do with this trend. Anyway, the LoMonte clique is a symptom of the overall problem, not the cause.

Peeks, we're just not connecting on this and never will. I could cut and paste my text from directly above and ask you to re-read it 1,000 times and you would probably continue insisting that I fault Holmgren for the Chicago Fire and the Hindenberg. That's not my POV and never was. Again, the whole agent thing is a symptom and not the cause. It's a data point, an example, an observation. I find it relevant and you find it absurd. EOD it's 9-23.
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

No argument there.

Question- Replace Shurmur with Fox tonight. How relevant is agent issue then? How much of a data point?

See, my issue is both were available when one was chosen. It has nothing to do with clique. It has to do with what can only be described as a shitty decision (and one you were right about when it went down).

But switch 'em. Change anything?

Sub in Jon Gruden for Shurmur if ya want. Still an agent discussion here? Is it still a symptom/data point?
