You shoulda done what I done. Stop reading and be mad about something else. I really have no idea what you guys are fighting about because I haven't followed the cavs closely this year and didn't / couldn't read these posts. So I somewhat changed the subject. You guys carry on, now.

Very good questions. Maybe we can get back to discussing basketball now that everybody has had their little meltdowns, tantrums, and suicidal ideations.

I'll add one more to your list. Varajao does not have a servicable 15 foot jumper, although he's working on it and making some progress. Can he be considered a good PF?

I have to admit I'm tempted to ask whether Sullinger can ever be a good NBA power forward without being able to knock down 3-pointers, but I'm afraid somebody might eat a Glock or drill a hole in his head or something.

Part of the point has always been they had their garbage man. They had their guy who gets his points on put backs and PG penetration and who blocks shots and rebounds. A guy best suited to coming off the bench.

Not expensive either. Not a guy whose age will affect his worth.

They didn't need to use the 4th pick in the draft on that guy's clone when they had three other positions on the floor where they're pathetic, sad and...pathetic.

AV was a 2nd round pick. TT was the fourth effing pick in the draft. That was a waste of a pick on a player who will never, ever, ever, ever be an above average scorer, offensive player, shooter or a guy you can have in the game when it's on the line because he can't hit half his freebies.

That's as calm and rational as I can be when I say it.

AV's ceiling is higher then Dennis Rodman's, as evidenced by all of his All-NBA, All-Star and All-Defense appearances.

Leave it to the weasel little troll to come in and take a post from the top of the thread to try and look rational then make some smart ass comment about AV (WHO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD HAS SAID IS A FAIR CEILING FOR TT) that has zero relevance to the 4,000 other cunty words of ridiculousness he has splashed all over the boards.

You can spin all you want, you are still the single dumbest imbecile in the history of Cleveland message boards and not worthy of rational conversation at this point.

That is why this happens to you once every two months and your stupidity has now caused you run-ins with virtually every poster in this forum.

Once again, Pros demonstrates that useful NBA player *ala Andy* is a fair ceiling he is more then welcome to have for his TT porn. However, instead of behaving like so he shows up once a month after TT's *good* game, ignores all the rest and proclaims things like "HIS CEILING IS THAT OF HOFERS DENNIS RODMAN AND BEN WALLACE, JUST BETTER ON OFFENSE!!!!!"

When you stop being a stupid troll bitch Pros people will stop telling you to go fuck yourself.

I'm literally in shock that after the troll shit you pulled earlier you have the audacity to try to bring it back to a conversation about fucking Andy, someone who has been used FAVORABLY as a TT comp on these boards for, uhm, months.

Now, again, go fuck yourself troll.

Is Real Cavs Fan a cesspool of stupidity? Honest question. Never been there or OBR and wonder if their Cvas forums are decent.

Does WFNY have forums?

I guess I could look but, Jesus, I'm tired. Fuck it. Someone answer if they want. I'm not looking.

They all suck.

This was the only Cavs forum worth a damn.

It died ages ago.

Now it's the trolls private playground.

"DENNIS RODMAN IS TT!!!!!!!!"

But honestly, I've never seen someone as dumb as PROS online. He's so stupid he think's he's smart and thinks the way he looks at things is intelligent, when in fact it literally shreds logic to pieces and ruins the simple concept of thought.

He's the worst and that shit with Al Horford (coming back now and taking the post I posted Al Horford in response to and making it about AV, whose distance shooting break down is up thread and 200x better than TT's) and spinning it into TT, that was unreal.

Oh and I do geniunely fear for our country if PROS is employed anywhere he is able to *think* on a daily basis. Maybe he can pull a cart for a living or something, but that is all I got.

So you believe the Cavs wasted the pick because they already have their garbage man. Fair enough and very possibly correct. I guess we'll find out next year, especially if Vala shows up in the Association. Although I'm not too upset with having two Andy Varajaos on the team, if that's what it turns out to be.

Watching TT early in the season, my impression was that he has the raw material to be an outstanding defensive player but his offensive game was...ugly. Trying to look at the glass half full, I figured he had a chance to develop into a Dennis Rodman type player - no offense whatsoever, but still a valuable component on a Championship contender due to his superior defense and offensive rebounding. Nothing I've seen has changed my mind about his defense and offensive rebounding, although he's still in the early learning stages. His offense already is better than Rodman's.

Give TT a couple of years in the league and we'll see whether his upside is Rodman, Andy, or something less. He has yet to log 30 minutes as a power forward in a single NBA game. When he starts getting 30 minutes every night I expect to see his development accelerate.

Thanks for being calm and rational. I always value your opinion, even when I only partially agree.

TT/Rodman thing is fantastic.

Rodman could guard 4 positions at an all-NBA level.

When TT gets to one, give me a ring.

Don't worry, I won't. I might post something if he ever leads the NBA in a rebounding category or makes the All-Defensive team, though.

Yeah, Rodman could guard four positions at an All-NBA level, but not as a rookie. He made his first All-NBA defensive team in his third season, the year he became a full-time starter.

In his fourth season he was the NBA Defensive POY and in his sixth season he averaged 18.7 rebounds per game.

I can see why someone could object to Rodman and TT being mentioned in the same sentence. I still believe TT has the strength, quickness, agility, and mentality to be one of the best offensive rebounders in the NBA (he's pretty good already), and a superior defender.

But in the interest of discouraging any self-mutilations around here, I'll cease and desist comparing him to anybody except Andy. I'm normally not one to blindly follow the herd, but in this case it's just not worth the aggravation.

A little food for thought for all you negative nancy's. TT is only a rookie and if you gave him 60.41 minutes per game he would be scoring at a similar clip as Tim Duncan (one of the best power forwards of all time...you might have heard of him).

Absurd you say? There are only 48 minutes in a game? Details.

For you naysayers, if TT would just play 42 mpg he would be rebounding at the same clip as Tim Duncan in his rookie year, you do know that Tim Duncan will be in the HoF one day right? The young pup just needs a chance.

Finally if you still arent a believer, Rodman averaged 4.3 rpg his rookie year, Tristan is already rebounding at 5.9 per game. Simple math tells me that TT is 1.37 times the rebounder. I put that information in to my excel sheet and determined that in the 2018 season TT will be averaging 25.7 boards per game, be banging Lady Gaga and have zebra striped dyed hair

That isnt too bad for the 4th pick overall.
In the end, we're all "only for a limited time," you guys.

This is Hollingers first time seeing TT live and it is hilarious to watch with the game:

John Hollinger ‏ @johnhollinger
Tristan takes so long to gather and go up, that's his problem. Shoulda had easy two just now, instead shooting FTs.

He tweets something in disbelief at how bad TT finishes roughly every six minutes.

Good point. I guess I can just tune out when I need to.

Just annoying though. Weird to see people turn into ten year old kids when a game starts. Maybe I'm just fucking old.

Can't disagree on this. TT needs to learn to protect the ball and finish instead of exposing it by going for the monster slam. He probably got away with it in college but now he's learning what he can and can't do in the pros.

There was the one put back that Carr commented on where TT grabbed the rebound, kept the ball at chest level while protecting it with his elbows, and scored, as opposed to bringing the ball below his waist to gather himself for the power dunk, then putting the ball behind his head, thereby exposing it twice. He did it right one time, now he needs to do that consistently.

Grant said they have some specific things mapped out for TT to work on in the off-season. Protecting the ball and finishing in traffic has to be one of them. In the meantime maybe he can pick up a couple of things from Twan.

Overall, a very good game for the Cavs. They played dead even on the road against a team that smacked them around in two previous games, but still got a loss. Progress without sacrificing draft position.

Ah yes, can't finish, can't shoot (like NBA record bad) and can't defend 1 v. 1, yet has higher upside than a HOFer and equal upside to an established All-Star with one of the more well-rounded PF games in the NBA.

Ha, I went to college with Ben. We were roommates at OSU our junior and senior year. Great guy, biggest Cleveland hoops fan I've ever known. I guess he's writing over at Waiting for Next Year nowadays though I haven't spoken to him in some time. Nice to see he has followers.

Hey Donkey Boy, I'm happy to see you've gone from "I don't even read Pros' posts" to faithfully reading AND responding to every single one, sometimes with multiple responses to one post.

Always glad to win new fans.

David Thorpe did a 2012 redraft yesterday. He had Tristan going #2.

Yep, David Thorpe sure did.

Tristan Thompson has been the winner of this year's "Guy that worked out at my camps so I am going to pimp them incessantly until they fall out of the league or with" guy since months before the draft.

As usual, Thorpe is the king of zero objectivity and constant praise of guys "He Worked Out" and "He Helped."

Thorpe sucks always has, always will.

Care to provide another example of a player he's done this with? (Just need a name, I'll take it from there.)

I always appreciated Thorpe's stuff, so when I saw him having Tristan at #2 it got me thinking that maybe I was missing something.

Well, I quit reading him after he started proclaiming Curry (who I love) one of the single greatest prospects of all time.

But I promise you, if you go through his stuff, he always does this.

I quit listening to him on NBA today for his rantings about someone or the other last year, can't remember off the top of my head.

Thorpe's reputation is well earned, very, very well earned. He's been rambling on about TT since before the draft as well.

If you are asking me to go back and remember everything a guy that annoys the shit out of me said, well I can't do that. That would be like asking me to go back and start listing ridiculous trades Simmons has come up with. At some point it all just runs into a blur of ridiculous.

Hollinger last night was literally in disbelief watching TT play. Same day Thorpe decided to blow him.

If I'm not mistaken, Thorpe loves Casspi for the same reason...

Just skimmed through some of Thorpe's archived stuff. Prior to the season TT was his ROY pick.

Sounds very familiar.

I really have blacked out most of his shit ala Simmons.

And he's never done anything as egregious as comparing Tiger Woods to Ali coming back so I don't even really have those rare instances I remember.

RCF : Cavs :: OBR : Browns in many ways. Uber active, huge mixed bag of poster quality. Big investment to stay current and wade thru the signal : noise on the main forum.

There's some posters I like.. Enjoy John from VA.

Tristan takes so long to gather and go up, that's his problem. Shoulda had easy two just now, instead shooting FTs.

He tweets something in disbelief at how bad TT finishes roughly every six minutes.

But the fast twitch more than makes up for it.

John from VA is a cocksucker, but he makes some solid points.

Granted I haven't read him since the only real good Cavs forum ever (Fanhome) died.
