Except the Titanic was a beautiful ship, the Browns are a dingy with a broken outboard motor.

Exactly. You have a giant boat that is sinking no matter what anyone does (the Browns).

You have a down on his luck stowaway who finds himself in the position to nail some quality strange if he plays his cards right. (Redskins)

You have the hot piece of ass who can really cut a rug and drink with the big boys who everyone wants a piece of. (RG3)

And you have the asshole lunatic running around trying to shoot people for jumping in and fucking the piece of ass he thought was his girlfriend. (Holmgren).

Yes, in a $50 side deal, I can see it coming down to friends. In the multi billion dollar world of the NFL, no freaking way. Mike is telling season ticket holders what he needs to for them to buy more tickets.

Too high... too far...

Who gives a shit? It's gone.

The truth (whatever that may be) won't change reality. No matter who's "fault" it is, H&H need to be the ones that clean it up.

BTW, how implausible did you find my theory:

STL says make your best offer. This is it.

CLE offers 3 1's. WAS offers 3 1's and a 2 (convenient, isn't it? Wonder if they had any inside knowledge about Cleveland's offer...).

STL takes the WAS package.

CLE calls back and says "We can beat that." STL says "No, we already sold the pick." (stupid tactics, but whatever). They don't go back on their word b/c Fisher & Shanny are buds.

CLE stomps feet and feels bitter. They feel their 3 1's are just as good as the Skins' package b/c the 4 is worth more than the 6 (it would take at least a 2nd rounder to move from 6 to 4), which is debatable but doesn't matter b/c STL didn't think so. Holmgren says as much in his call today, since Holmy is nothing if not easy to anger (and certainly seems like a grudge-holder).

We've got time. Their horses are pointing in every direction because they see a threat behind every cactus.

Not to mention they'll kill off a dozen of their own before they get out of the corral.

A few of 'em will be drunk and opt to stay home and there ain't no way in hell that rudderless boat will ever survive the weakest rapids, especially while they argue about who is steering it.

Uncomfortable like the back of a Volkswagen?

You guys will regret your decision not to give me an office when you are looking forward to a night out on the town, only to realize that you need a gold tooth with a diamond in it, and no way to get one.

Not really sure the point here Peeks. Networks exist, friendships exist and sometimes loyalty clouds judgement. The number of Browns FO and coaches represented by LaMonte is a fact, not bullshit.

That's true. But there is an unwillingness of many of those upset by the Lamonte clique to acknowledge the potential roles cliques and friendships played bewtween the Skins and Rams.

It's dismissed as excuses and bullshit while anything that goes wrong in Berea is attributed to cliques and acquintances.

Again, not everyone and not every thing, there are plenty of issues where Chubby deserves to be tarred and feathered. All I want to see is a baseline of objectivity.

That was the point.

Since we share the same brain, I think that I can speak for Peeks when I say that he is not referring to the fact that several Browns FO/Coaches being LaMonte clients as bullshit, but the fact that anyone cares is bullshit.

Fucksake, again.

If word got out that Mike Holmgren hired his buddies for no reason other than they had some qualifications and were his buddies, nobody is freaking out other than some fans.

If word got out that teams were accepting less value than was offered somewhere else just to hook up a buddy? That trade gets nixed.

BTW: here is my disconnect with everything, if your plan is to build a team entirely through the draft how do you offer to trade three first rounders for anyone?

Would they have actually went into FA had they gotten the rights to RG3?

Or was it all a ruse......

I think they offer that because the believe more than anyone that getting QB solved is more important that anything else. When you listen to them tlak about the "plan", the countdown to the SB for them starts when you find your QB and projects 3-5 years after that.

Wait, so we aren't even in the plan yet? That's a good way to keep a job.

Twiddle your thumbs, get a QB, then the coundown starts!!

Nothing other than to ask the fellas here if there's anything to this 'old boys club' that Chubby is referring to.

It would seem to me dismissing Chubby's claim that this was a deal between friends and old boys would have to lead to dismissing some of the Lamonte Club bullshit that's prevalent here.

Got it. I never weighed in on the whole thing becasue I never expected RGIII to be a Brown in the first place and don't really fault Holmgren for not landing him if he indeed offered 2 additional round 1 picks.

Mike Holmgren is fat and stupid. He gets the blame. He was probably on the grassy knoll.

I hate the Browns.

It looks like Miami is striking out in every QB derby out there. Is there a chance we can capitalize on their "panic" for a QB to get them to trade up for Browns' #4 pick so they can be sure to get Tannehill? There's a decent chance Tannehill will still be there at 8, but if they're gonna panic...

There's no saying what Jeff Ireland will do, but I don't see them trading with us since we're their main threat to take Tannehill. Either we want him or we don't. I think our willingness to trade down will signal to Miami that we're not taking him anyway, and they can just sit tight.

If they trade up at all, I'd think it would be with Minny at #3. Which would be so Dolphinsish.

What Hiko said. Browns are only threat to them. If they offer trade up to Fins then Miami knows they aren't in love with Tannehill.

The Browns need to divest themselves of Tannehill, swear their undying love for someone that teams behind them covet and then make best deal possible.

Sooooo... you think the Browns sent a contingent to RG3's Pro Day today? Or did they pout and stamp their feet?

I'm betting good money the Walrus wasn't there.

Michael Bush, 14/4 with Da Bears. Are we really content to head into the season with OMGBANANA and Jackson behind Hardesty as running backs? Holy @#*%.

If Heckgren were an actual front office instead of an old man's cigar club I would say this means Trent Richardson is going to be picked #4 or Ben Tate is on his way to CBS. Instead this just means we will go with Hardesty to give Heckert one last chance at proving the world wrong for trading up.
