I'm in favor of moving on from QB, and trying to aquire another 1st round pick for next year somehow, this can probably be accomplished by trading either one of our 1sts.

If we get out of #4 (considering there is no elite pass rusher or QB there) we will still have 2 first this year when we do it (most likely).

Claiborne isn't a terrible selection if we are forced to stay. Would be different if salaries weren't hacked down to what they are.

Would love to be able to trade down and take a chance on Ingram rather than to reach for Coples.

Would also like Perry at 22 if if they go Blackmon (FTR I think Floyd is the better pick at WR if they have convinced themselves they need to draft one in the top 10) or Claiborne at #4 if we didn't trade down at all.

Yep, I'm tempted to say "go all-in on defense." Finish the Heckert method to it's logical end by trying to create a dominant D, with offense as afterthought. Mind you, I don't see Super Bowls ever coming with that, but you might as well play out what you started and it's better than reaching for a project QB.

Also wouldn't mind taking a shot to see if you can pry Mallett from the the Pats, provided you can use a low pick on him. If he sucks, you're right back at it next year for the FTOY and if he's talented, you're in good shape.

Just saying that sometimes what seems to be "just another warm body" can turn out to be far more....Although....that just never seems to happen here. We've gotten some decent players with low picks, but just can't seem to get THAT lucky.

There's no way to orchestrate a trade here, is there? Trade down to 15ish, use that pick to get Wallace, and get a 2nd/3rd you can use on an OL? Still have 22 for your project QB/DE, and doesn't force you to waste the 4 on a guy you dont need (Claiborne)

Thanks, I'll stick around. I read a lot of these boards before I signed up so I knew I had found a real fanbase here. Passionate about their teams and very willing to call management creative names, when they seem to tell you to go pound salt, we do it OUR way....and our way is the RIGHT way. As for lack of luck, here's something I found that really hits it home. It shows how creative we can be, even in the face of adversity!
