This may not be that much of a stretch...
Kenny looks like he could be our starting LF on Opening Day.

Yep. All true. There was a swagger about that team and the town due to that roster of guys.
Had they finished the job they'd have been Gods. As it was they came real close to that immortal status.
Belle was another guy I never had an issue with in terms of him leaving. And if he came back for a day here to honor him I think most people would be thrilled.

Damn straight.
Game on the the line, the guy every Tribe fan wanted in the batters box was Albert Belle.
Just don't go trick-or-treating at this house.

I know that's not your take, as you are just passing along what you read, but that's bullshit. Dude grew up in Shreveport and went to a predominantly black high school (Huntington). He was an Eagle Scout, in the high school Honor Society, and had a scholly to Notre Dame to play QB. Also, his fraternal twin Terry, who had the same upbringing, was one of the classiest and nicest guys to ever walk the face of the earth. Belle just had crossed wires, short temper, and the juice only fueled the hulk inside.
Also, the incident in college was a Mississippi State fan at Georgia (SEC Tournament site that year). The guy was banging a 3 foot piece of 2x4 against the outfield wall to make noise and calling Belle every racist name in the book. Belle ran out to start one of the middle innings on defense and he never slowed down. Hopped that fence in seemingly one bound, grabbed the 2x4 out of the guys hand and told him how he felt. He never laid a hand on the guy, actually. Alot of fault to go around in that incident, but I never understood how the people working that ballpark and the cops in the area could let a group of guys roll a keg out on the berm in the outfield, get shitty, and wield lumber like assholes for 5 innings.

Never went to a Browns game and sat in the end zone bleachers at the old Cleveland Municipal Stadium, did ya?

Haha. I've never had that experience. Maybe one day...

Too late, as the old stadium was torn down and replaced prior to the re-birth in 1999. Now, security lurks in every section waiting to toss people and/or pull their season tickets for acting out of line. Like standing and yelling D FENSE or some other nonsense. Apparently, loud noises bother the Steeler fans in attendence.
Bringing it back to the Tribe, the old Muni was an absolute chamber of horrors during the dismal Indians seasons. Place sat 80,000+, and when the Tribe would draw 3500 for an April game in 40 degree weather the word "cavernous" was an apt description.

Remember when they put the CF wall back to about 450, and built "The Trapezoid" - all for Alex Cole?
