Hillis To Hire Agent #4

Unread postby Hikohadon » Wed Feb 29, 2012 5:22 pm

Impossible to say whether this any effect on contract talks since we don't know why Hillis gave him the heave-ho. Hard not to shake your head at it, though... it's not like Hillis came off like a genius even before this year.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/02/29/peyton-hillis-cant-stop-changing-agents/

Last October, we noted that Browns running back Peyton Hillis used three different agents in 2011 alone. He’s celebrating the upcoming new league year by making another change.

Hillis is looking for his fourth agent since the start of 2011 after parting ways with agent Kennard McGuire, according to Josina Anderson of ESPN.com. There is a minimum five-day window before Hillis can hire a new agent.
It's only progress if you eventually get somewhere.

For some reason I imagine the scene from the Big Lebowski where the rug-pissers(Hillis) are dunking Lebowski's(Agents) head in the toilet....

Where's the fucking money shithead?? Ahhhh, lemme take another look I'm sure its down there somewhere.....

That movie is brilliant.

It doesn't hit you how funny it is, until an hour later..and then you're just rolling. I love the Coen Brothers

Donny: Are these the Nazis, Walter?
Walter Sobchak: No, Donny, these men are nihilists, there's nothing to be afraid of.
Nihilist: Ve don't care. Ve still vant ze money, Lebowski, or ve fuck you up.
Walter Sobchak: Fuck you. Fuck the three of you.
The Dude: Hey, cool it Walter.
Walter Sobchak: No, without a hostage, there is no ransom. That's what ransom is. Those are the fucking rules.
Nihilist #2: His girlfriend gave up her toe!
Nihilist #3: She though we'd be getting million dollars!
Nihilist #2: Iss not fair!
Walter Sobchak: Fair! WHO'S THE FUCKING NIHILIST HERE! WHAT ARE YOU, A BUNCH OF FUCKING CRYBABIES?

This has to be the 9,000th thread to get turned into a Big Lebowski quote thread.

Where's Mother?

He loves that movie..... and so do I.

I'm not sure what Hillis expects, I don't think anyone is going to lay out big money for a guy coming off such a questionable season.

Back to football, but this is a good move suggesting he's closer to staying than ever.

Bought a living room rug this weekend.

Not really sure what to make of this new report, that Hillis was considering retirement and joining the CIA near the end of last season (I'm sure the CIA can't wait for that application).

If the Coaches were dealing with this shit all season, no wonder they're not gonna break the bank for the guy.

http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7633501/cleveland-browns-use-tag-rb-peyton-hillis-source-says

Throughout the past season, Hillis has wavered about whether he wants to continue playing football, and even considered joining the CIA, according to team sources.

It is unclear if he actually pursued a career with the CIA.

Hillis told Browns coaches as recently as the end of the season that he was contemplating retirement, though it now looks as if he will continue playing, the sources said.

But Hillis has felt defeated throughout his time in football, whether it was being benched at Arkansas in favor of Felix Jones and Darren McFadden, being traded away from the Denver Broncos, or being unable to procure the long-term deal he desired in Cleveland. It led him to tell Cleveland's coaches that he didn't know whether he wanted to play football anymore.

That's awesome.

"Fuck that lowball offer, I'm joining the CIA".

Do you actually join the CIA? Never heard of them at a job fair or whatever. I mean, you know they're there, because they're everywhere (like Col. Flagg) but they rarely hang a sign with "Now Accepting Applications" anywhere.

Only be better if he decided he was saying "Fuck You" and going to joing a commercial Alaskan crabbing boat.

Amazing how far his personality is from first impressions.

If he wants to come back and try to replicate 2010 I'd sign him for a few mil. I'd still treat this off-season as if he's not there.

CIA recruited heavily from Hopkins, there is an appication process and it is insane. I had to do multiple character interviews for multiple friends.

And congratulations America, this was your Madden Cover Boi in a year where Vick was clearly the best player in the NFL.

Like the scene where the technicolor comes on in The Wizard of Oz.

I read this and almost did a spit take. Went from 0-60 on the hilarity scale....and honestly, reading that kind of stuff makes the whole Hillis saga far more believable. The meetings with team mates behind closed doors, the random comments, the lack of enthusiasm for bringing him back. He's a serious nutcase.

Whats funny is that my brother knew a guy who overheard a bunch of things Hillis said last year out somewhere around town that seemed way off from all our impressions at that time.

Remember when I sent you that email Peeks? The the main part I was interested in confirming was that he was just talking about how he couldn't wait to get out of here, followed by a don't tell anyone I said that type comment.

I didn't post it on the actual board because......well its obvious why I didn't. Seemed like total garbage and I know a guy who knows a guy type stuff.

Now I believe him.

The timing on this is interesting, what with him just dumping his agent yesterday.

Not that I doubt it. I don't know him (or any of them) from Dahmer, and this kind of nonsense would certainly be in lockstep with a lot of the comments that the brass/fellow players made about him.

Dude might really need some meds.

Dude might be a nutcase, is definitely a puss, but damn, get him on the cheap this year and see what he does. I wouldn't be one bit suprised if he pulled off another 2010 performance. We've got bigger fish to fry i.e. RG3, RT, WR, BPA, etc.. Getting Hillis signed and avoiding the long term deal for now is perfect. Maybe Holmgren could even give him the Don Corleone ---> Johnny Fontane speech?

Nah. I've never called into a radio show, and I doubt I ever will.

Calling into one of those shows is like riding in the back of a pick up truck. It's almost impossible to do without looking like an asshole.
