Okay, pregame theatrics are what they are, but I'll say this, Mary J Blidge just dropped the best pre sporting event (major national variety) of the last year or so. Damn.

I thought the last four minutes of the song were pitchy, shitty and about as bad as it gets.

Maybe I saw the rehearsal anthem.

Just like any regular season game, KD and Westbrook with roughly 50% of their teams points.

Also, if you happen to have your TV on when Pitbull starts doing his thing at half-time I hear lighting yourself on fire is a far less painful existence than sitting through 65 seconds of Pitbull.

Seriously?

An NBA All Star Game thread?

If I want to watch NBA players show off and not play defense, i'll just watch a regular NBA game.

LMFAO Reggie says, "Will they call a timeout?"

Harlan, "Tom T. is calling for a timeout, but Lebron says no."

Its an ASG and all, but still somewhat funny.

"Shoot the fucking ball!!" might go down as my all-time favorite quote ever.

So great when your 'peers' are all in your shit for you not having a pair.

That was amusing.

And I really would like to know about the broken nose Wade delivered upon Kobe (along with a mild concussion). Wonder what that's about. Wade doesn't like the way Kobe treats his bitch LeBronna?

Final posession, 10 seconds or so left, ball goes to LBJ at top of key, Kobe guarding him and you can hear Kobe yealling, "Shoot the fucking ball..shoot the fucking ball" and LBJ throws a shitty pass toward Wade in the corner that Griffin picks off to finish it.

Best part was Kobe AND 'Melo shaking their heads and rolling their eyes afterward.

Funny. James walked to the bench and sat down. ;-) ;)

I can't wait for Lebron to start shooting six 3's a game now because he made a few in the ASG. In respect to not shooting 3's, he started out great with something like one 3 attempted in the first 8 games but you can see the gradual change to the old Lebron as he's now close to two 3's/game. It will only increase from here, especially with stars from both teams openly questioning his manhood on national TV.

This is a big part of my beef with him, when people talk about "how different a player" he is since leaving CTown. It's horseshit, until he actually completes the transformation, any transformation, he is still the same LeBron. It all starts with that thing on his shoulders that people like to call a head.

Woj predictably rips into Bron this morning.

He's pretty much spot on though. We all saw it here multiple times. Once in a while he'll tease that he's ready to choke you out to win, but most of the time he's passing on the responsibility if at all possible.

Woj closes by saying he eventually expects Lebron to turn that leaf, and I thought he would too, back when he was 20....now, I'm starting to be more of the opinion that it really is just too deeply rooted as an emotion to ever fully change.

We will see I guess.
"I won’t tell you exactly what it’s about, but this is typical of what might happen,'' he said. "I said, ‘Tom, do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘I don’t think I do. I think it’s too much or too strong or whatever.’ I said, ‘well, we might have to.’ And he goes, ‘well, if we have to, then you’ve got to tell me, because I won’t do it.’ And I said, ‘OK, then I might have to tell you. Fine.'''

Our fearless leader in the Draft War Room getting his hands dirty.

Yay for us.

Shoals is so much better then me at writing, here is why Mary J's anthem was awesome in a couple of quick paragraphs: http://theclassical.org/theclog/the-anthem-after-mary

Perhaps I'm just too much a pedantic slob to appreciate the eruditeness of...

"In the open, but not unexpectedly fraught, spaces, with a wagging finger and bluesy rasp, Mary J. Blige sat us down and explained, through familiar means, why America mattered to her—and vice versa."

and

"Mary J. Blige is no longer the auteur of tragedy she once was; we owe it to her to recognize how she's grown over the years."

Do I?

Forgot about...

Perhaps I prefer the soothing voice then the "scared"... Doesn't hurt Nona is amazingly beautiful too! :thumb up:

Yes, I saw they measured all against Marvin...

I agreed with that much.

SMH.

e0 seems to like reading writers who like to try too hard. You really have to be an asshole to start a sentence with "In the open, but not unexpectedly fraught, spaces..."

Cringe-worthy.

I've come to terms with certain literary styles being present in snooty sports-writing, yes.

It's the literary equivalent of SigFlanagan. Trying too hard and just bad, bad, bad.

The article was as shitty as her anthem.

Yes, I'm aware that makes me lesser than you in that you can see through the off notes to the soulful exclamation of being.

I still say it blew dead roadkill.
