LOL.

The IRS publishes detailed tax tables by income level. The latest results are for 2009. They show that taxpayers earning an adjusted gross income between $100,000 and $200,000 pay an average rate of twelve percent. This is below Buffett’s rate; so she must earn more than that. Taxpayers earning adjusted gross incomes of $200,000 to $500,000, pay an average tax rate of nineteen percent. Therefore Buffett must pay Debbie Bosanke a salary above two hundred thousand.

Ziner that one is too polarizing.

I answered the questions 3 times and by changing 2-3 answers (each time) I've ended up slightly right, smack dab in the middle and slightly left.

Maybe this is HOW JB determined he was a centrist. I also came out post-modernist. Mostly because that quiz is a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Apparently so. I just answered all the questions the same way, except I then identified myself as a "strong democrat" instead of "independent." That alone bumped me all the way to "Solid Liberal."

Double shrug.

I was stunned, stunned I tell you, to find out that I'm a libertarian. Interestingly, when I took a reason.com quiz where you chose which quotes agreed with you the most on a variety of issues (without you knowing who said what), I came up as a Huntsman guy.

Goddamn Wops...........

People don't like Ron Paul because he wraps himself in the constitution like a martyr.

The constitution is not perfect and it needs to be updated and re-written. There is no reason why we today should be bound to the agenda of people who lived 200+ years ago. It's absurd.

We should move past the romanticism and acknowledge it's a document that is outdated and doesn't meet our needs...... also people should acknowledge that Thomas Jefferson, for all his brilliance, was a slave owning child rapist.

Add Santorum to that list, and I'd be contemplating a move to America's hat as well.

Cannot believe that these are the people running for the leader of the free world.

Greasing the skids for Rand Paul who comes off less nutty. I don't see how any of you guys who claim to think like a libertarian think Judge Napalitano is nutty. Jesus H. I'll vote for whatever shitbag the GOP nominates I just won't skipping all the way. And not spend one ounce of money, time or intellectual capital on it. Curious, but why? Why hold your nose and vote for someone you think is a shitbag? Never mind the fact that at this point it looks like you'll be voting for either Greg Stillson or the Mormon Obama.

While my personal rhetoric says there isn't a dimes worth of difference, I still see a minor lesser of two evils. Frankly if I could guarantee the pubbies would win the senate and house I wouldn't mind a divided govt. and while it looks like that might happen, you can never be too sure.

I won't vote for any of them, not a single one.

That said, I am only so libertarian. Fiscally there is not a single viable candidate in existence that reflects actual conservatism and the left and right are all the same now... they just spend in bushel A instead of bushel B.

I will only vote at this point if I feel a supreme court seat is in danger and if it is I will vote for the left. Our economic existence is so fucked politically left is right and right is left, neither you nor I are smart enough to differentiate between them. At this point I vote for liberty and our rights before all else and I don't vote unless those are challenged.

The big deal with Paul is, well, international security wise..............

And he's a racist fucking loon truther..........

Fair enough. I wouldn't mind a replay of Clinton's second term either. I've said before that if I vote I'm going with Gary Johnson, more of a way to send a message that there isn't a significant difference between either major party. Not much of a message, I'll grant, and I guarantee that if a third-party candidate ever got an appreciable number of votes the Dems and Repubs would team up to make ballot access even tougher than it is. That's where I agree with Napolitano; it's all about power for both parties, and there are no principles (except for the loony ones Frothy spouts off about).

Even this is bushel a bushel b. The right likes some rights, cares less about others, usually under the guise of security. The left does exactly the same, usually under the guise of tolerance. Both are synonyms for control.

I can't believe these gutless assholes are prattling about contraception. They should be talking about jobs. But they won't miss the chance to pander to the batshit religitards who think that Jesus gives a fuck if you use contraception or not.

I just love the fact that a whole group of people are going to have to rationalize voting for one of these piles of human garbage. "HURRRRR! HE NOT OBAMA DURR DA DURRRR!!!" What an amazing selection for the most powerful job in the world.

Yea cuz our guys always bring up thos "winning" social issues... You should really check who brought up such a periphery issue. It is working as planned, though to be honest it didn't even need to be brought out against this bunch of B teamers.

This is the primary season, not the general election—and the Repubs are merely vetting their candidates with a fervor, quite unlike 2008 when the Dems fell in love with a hollow candidate rather than nominate a woman who probably would've been 10 times the President than what we've got now.

Given the current administration's mistakes and missteps too numerous to mention in this brief dialog, as soon as the Republican National Convention names a nominee, you probably will hear all the loyal Repubs and a great deal of Independents singing the same song. It's titled "Anybody But Obama."

Eh I'm sick of hearing about the "didn't vet" BS. I guess Rev. Wright never happened?

Anyway that totally misses the point.

That got the ball rolling, and it hasn't stopped. The Republicans did not get this thing started, its a total loser issue when the economy is 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the list of issues...

Which is the best evidence that real choice is dead.

Asshole Dem vs Asshole Repub.

Does Mitt Romney actually represent what conservatives really think? Or Newt? Or Rick (probably the closest)?

Probably not, but they'll hold their noses and pull the lever because we're trapped in a cycle of "the lesser of 2 evils" bullshit.

I will say that the GOP has been entertaining so far. Mitt and his Ward Cleaver "aww shucks" fuppishness, Newt's awe inspiring ego, Santorum's stupid batshit Christian routine... and Ron Paul being Ron Paul.

If the Cain Train hadn't crashed into the goddamn mountain, OJ wouldn't be so bitter.

Jesus cares about birth control. I'm surprised Viagra is ok, since it was God that decided they shouldn't get a boner anymore.

Congress wasting time on the issue having hearings with religious assholes is why their approval rating is hovering around single digits.

Need to have term limits for all those douche bags too. They're fucking awful.

You trust the guy with a squeaky clean record who started running for Prez at age 8? Not me. This "vetting" gets so carried away on the unimportant that we can't get a decent canidate. That and the money whoring.

CDT sums up the choice perfectly feh and feh. If Santorum gets the nod, I'll probably vote Obama. I think I can deal with his "control" of my life better then Rick's version...

This.

I can at least deal with Romney at this point, no matter how "bland" he is, at least he's not obsessively pushing for some bizarre capitalist theocracy that makes Iran look secular.

Who are the people voting for this guy? Honestly? Who?

Also bizarre is Santorum's favouring of one segment of the economy over the other for tax purposes. I'm all for manufacturing getting a hold here, but um, industry warfare man...
