Great Piece on Jeremy Lin

And, not surprisingly, it's by Andrew Clayman who's often as good as many national guys out there in my opinion.

Knicks have now won six in a row with Lin at PG after his buzzer-beater last night. Also, I saw where Lin has scored more points in his first four starts than any player since '76-'77. Incredible.

The Cavs should start scouting the Ivy League a little more closely.

I was wondering if Lin is for real or if he's the NBA version of Gomer Hodge. With every game he's looking more and more real.

Finally someone woke up D"Antoni and got him coaching better...

Nice to hear all these nice stories about Raymond Felton 2.0. What PG doesn't excel in D'Antoni's system?

This is where I am on the whole thing:

The Volume of people I like and respect who insist on joining the idiotic pun parade with this Lin story is staggering. #lowhangingfruit

By the way- How did that fat ass Jason Whitlock not get fired for his tweet the other night?

White dude goes that route on black dude and it's Katy Bar the Door. Right or wrong it would be. There'd be people picketing in front of white dude's work place and threatening a boycott FOX Sports.

Whitlock has been a getting away with being a racist piece of shit for ages.

And ironicly he is one of the EXACT reasons a white reporter saying something that racist would get fired. Not enough prominent Asians in reporting and the old guard white media doesn't give a shit. The young basketball writing media was up in arms, but no one cares about em.

Take the best sports story of recent memory and turn it into that? Awesome Whitlock...

Bomani has completely taken over Whitlock's roll of useful black minded commentator, Whitlock should just be put out the pasture at this point.

Was going to say essentially the same thing. Except I don't know that Whitlock's racist, but it undoubtedly is the medium he works in.

Honest to god, I wouldn't be surprised if it was intentional because he knows full well that racial issues raise his q factor, whether he was the one to start it or not.

Just like e0 and Clayman said in the column, he's not going to call for his own firing.

Whitlock has been saying severly inappropriate shit for ages, racist or not, he says racist things regularly.

Well, when he isn't sticking to his schtick of comparing every athlete that is relevant at any moment to Wire characters.

He's a fucking joke.

Whitlock, Simmons, Screamin A, Skip, and Rovell all need to be herded together and torched.

I learned everything I needed to know about Whitlock when he wrote about a 5,000 word puff piece on Maverick Carter. I can't stand LeBron but I at least understand some people looking the other way because he's so good at basketball. However, fawning all over a former drug dealer and mastermind of The Decision whose main skill is befriending a future NBA star is pretty special.

Sorry but Iman Schumpert and Toney Douglas are not point guards. D'Antoni may have a great system for them, but even he can't turn shooting guards into point guards.

Running the P&R every play is not coaching a point guard to success, it is seeing skills and letting them shine.

This isn't some 7SoL offense the Knicks are running. They're just running base P&R all day long and letting the kid create on his own off of it.

Well he didn't see the Knicks skills early in the season. How does a guy ruin 'Melo, STAT, and Chandler!

This is all very rhetorical and sarcastic.

Did anyone see the ESPN mobile headline this am after the Knicks lost?? I didn't actually see it, but apparently it was "Chink in the armor" or something to that effect. Wow.

I could see that happening at the local paper, but geezus..... did someone really not know that 'Chink' is about the lowest name to call a Chinese person? Could've at least saved it for the small print IMO.
