Hear Me Out- We Can Get Howard

Dwight Howard will certainly be dealt after the All-Star break and I think that the Cavs should make a move to get him. I saw we package a deal with Andy, Sessions and our first round pick this year (maybe next year's too) for Howard. The deal would only go through however if Howard signed a multi-year contract with us first though. I think that it is a good trade for both teams because both sides benefit from it immediately. The Cavs get the best center in the game and the Magic get a double-double center in return who plays good defense. They also get a pretty good point guard in Sessions who is having his best year (24 and 13 the other night I beleive). They would also get our first round pick this year which will probably be a lottery pick. They would be able to get a good young player in the top 14.

Bros, I'll bite....I am not as smart or critically astute as eOy, although I too come from the ICL and have a graduate degree and post doctoral education. 6586, Howard will not come to Cleveland because:
1. It's Cleveland...small market. It's not LA, NYC, or Dallas. He will make more off the court than
on the court in those cities.
2. He is not interested in enduring another rebuild.
3. Word is players don't want to come play for Gilbert no matter how fat the wallet.

We mortals that don't make 22 million a year lose sight of basics...it really isn't even about the $$$ anymore or should I say the money from their contracts. It's the business off the court.

I appreciate the feedback. The hardest part of this deal would be to get Howard to come here but I think that it's at least worth trying to trade for him. I guess I was just banking on hopes and dreams on if he would sign here. However, I think that the two players mentioned and two picks is fair value. If we can get a pick and a player for Mo Williams, we can get Howard two players and 2 picks.

Sessions, Andy and TWO first round picks (like I mentioned in the original post) is fair value. We are probably going to deal those two guys anyway so why not make it a paskaged deal. Andy is a double-double guy and Sessions is a smart player. With two first round picks, the Magic can do a lot. Be negative all you want but the truth remains: The Magic NEED to deal Howard and they will take a little less the closer it gets to the trade deadline.

I believe I already addressed your point about him not wanting to sign here. It's a tough sell but it's worth a shot.

Howard has 5 years and $115m left with a $10m buyout in 2017. Even if Philly wanted to get out from under his contract (I would) I don't think the Dolans would go for it. It's just too many years. Too expensive.

If we thought the Tribe has been handcuffed by Hafners contract, just wait and see what paying $25m to a 35 year old first baseman with declining power and a shit glove will do.

He'd clearly be an upgrade this year. But the tribe ALWAYS has to think long term.

Tree have dmiles by many years. SR was my personal bitch in hoops but that was in the days before the well-heeled (meaning have a job) families moved in and classed the place up to Canfield-Lite. I went for 30 in the North Lima sweat box as a senior, one year before the three-point line went in or maybe I'd have gone for 35. By the way one of my hoops teammates is a cancer researcher in San Diego who earned his MD at Stanford, and another is a DDS who went to Tufts dental (right up your alley). I work in software engineering with a grad degree as well, so some of us did ok. (Though my MD friend I mentioned insists we've succeeded in spite of, not because of JM).
