However, I don't know if Howard woudl be willing to stay in Cleveland while we develop more. I think he wants to win now in a New York, Chicago or L.A.
I'd love to hear feedback on this so feel free to voice your opinion.

Bros, I'll bite....I am not as smart or critically astute as eOy, although I too come from the ICL and have a graduate degree and post doctoral education. 6586, Howard will not come to Cleveland because:
1. It's Cleveland...small market. It's not LA, NYC, or Dallas. He will make more off the court than
on the court in those cities.
2. He is not interested in enduring another rebuild.
3. Word is players don't want to come play for Gilbert no matter how fat the wallet.
We mortals that don't make 22 million a year lose sight of basics...it really isn't even about the $$$ anymore or should I say the money from their contracts. It's the business off the court.
I would donate a kidney to get Howard here.
Love your spirit. Keep the faith, someday we will have a parade down Carnegie.

Only a Cleveland fan could thing Ramon Sessions has actual value or that Andy is a piece to build around.
AND THAT DOESN'T EVEN APPROACH THE FACT THAT DEWEY HAS LIKE THREE CITIES HE WILL SIGN AN EXTENSION WITH, INCLUDING NOT CHICAGO

Martin, Scola, Odom, Dragic, Knicks 1st rounder.
Andrew #6,586 is batshit crazy, but if our franchise was located in NY or LA, ESPN would be all over this shit.

The general reaction among rival executives was that Hornets general manager Dell Demps did as well as he could under the circumstances after Paul told the Hornets on Monday he would not sign a contract extension this season and instead planned to become a free agent July 1, 2012.e0y2e3 wrote:...was probably five times better than Andy and Ramon Sessions with four first round picks.
And if we were in NY or LA, ESPN'd be all like, "MAYBE IF THEY THROW IN TRISTAN THOMPSON." And then it would probably happen.

So two roleplayers and one (maybe two) potential lotto picks for a two month rental of Superman. You replaced Chris Grant and Otis Smith with Ted Stepien clones, right?

Howard has 5 years and $115m left with a $10m buyout in 2017. Even if Philly wanted to get out from under his contract (I would) I don't think the Dolans would go for it. It's just too many years. Too expensive.
If we thought the Tribe has been handcuffed by Hafners contract, just wait and see what paying $25m to a 35 year old first baseman with declining power and a shit glove will do.
He'd clearly be an upgrade this year. But the tribe ALWAYS has to think long term.
I don't see it.

Sessions, Andy and TWO first round picks (like I mentioned in the original post) is fair value. We are probably going to deal those two guys anyway so why not make it a paskaged deal. Andy is a double-double guy and Sessions is a smart player. With two first round picks, the Magic can do a lot. Be negative all you want but the truth remains: The Magic NEED to deal Howard and they will take a little less the closer it gets to the trade deadline.
I believe I already addressed your point about him not wanting to sign here. It's a tough sell but it's worth a shot.

A win-win for both squads.
