Never saw this win coming. No Kyrie, no problem. Sessions stepped up with a monster game and Boobie got back just in time. The trade offers for Sessions just got a little richer.
Casspi is being slowly but surely being phased out as Gee just keeps producing. You can see his confidence growing. And no sign of Hollins tonight. They went with Samuels as I expected.
Jamison had a great game after getting 25 points last night in Miami. At age 35 I didn't think he had two good back-to-back games in him but he was huge tonight. In addition to his offense he was guarding Griffin most of the time. Without Irving the Cavs were missing a scorer so Jamison had to step up.
Varajao did it all as usual, including hitting a 15-foot jumper as the shot clock expired and the Cavs leading by two in the final minute. It was like that time Z won a game with a 3-pointer when he had no choice but to put it up.
I listened to the Clippers feed and it was very entertaining. The Clippers announcers assumed it would be an easy win. About the 2nd quarter they expressed surprise that the Cavs were still close and cautioned the Clippers about letting the Cavs "hang around". They were in shock when the Cavs built a 15-point lead in the 3rd quarter. When it became clear the Cavs would win they talked about how this loss hurt more than getting blown out at home by Denver. Talk about no respect. You'd think the Clippers had just lost to a 2-20 team.
Awesome and totally unexpected win for Byron Scott and the Cavs.
