So e0y2e3 landed a writing gig? Nice.

Thought we'd already heard what a voracious business man/aggressive lender Gilbert and Quicken were. What's nice is the reasonable interest rates the Lerners built their MBNA empire with.

My hatred of this piece of shit makes me want to burn down the new casino before it even opens. I regret voting for it. I regret giving anything to that over-mighty bridge troll. Please die in a car fire.

Ranks right up there with car salesmen.
What do you mean Akron isn't in the same market as Cleveland? We're close enough to be fucked by it's sports curse.

That's exactly what we need: More backlash against the best sports owner Cleveland has.

Bottom line for me is spend when spending is the right move. In that regard I'm fine with tmlp and Lerner. Love them to be the perfect balance of interested, knowledgable and 'involved' while also letting experts run the show. We all would. But end of day owners are human bank vaults. I don't care if they're predatory lenders or if they charge 26% APR. spend for a winner.

Meh.

I'm not sure we should be surprised or up in arms about any of the stuff in that article. Yeah, there's probably some shady business practices, and I'm sure they don't always treat their employees fairly and with a lot of compassion. I'm sure that's a lot different than every other big corporation out there. I'm astounded that Quicken loans have put practices and philosophies in place to maximize profits, even at the expense of some of workers. I'm also beside myself that they may have given loans that weren't in the best interest of the client.

And GASP! He's building a casino! What an awful guy! If we had known that he was going to build a casino we would have never voted o allow him to build a casino!

This I not me saying Gilbert is a good guy or a good owner. But nothing I'm reading here is making me think one way or another about it.

He's a rich asshole. Just like every other rich asshoe.

Again...meh.

I givea shitabout one thing as it pertains to Gilbert. Can he preside over a rebuild and eventual championship?

It's high pressure sales, the same things go in places like car lots, and Radio Shack, to name two places I checked into in my younger days. I decided that lifestyle wasn't for me.

I've been to car lots several times to pick up a salesman. All with expensive suits, expensive watches, chest pain, and blood pressure that would burst a boiler. And no food on the table if they don't sell this month.

Some can thrive in that. Not me.
