I wanted to see where I shook out with this and after reading this directly and growing up Catholic myself, I cannot believe that Joe Pa had no idea of such a thing. That's complete bullshit and revisionist history for someone that claimed to be so tied into his faith.

This re-deification now after his death genuinely has bothered me and after examining more and reading this, I'm only more disappointed. You aren't a "great character" man just cause you don't cheat in college football or take a high paying NFL job or because you remind everyone of a grandpa they had. One is or becomes a "great character" person when in the face of adversity or turmoil you stand up for what you believe is right and damn the repercussions.

Joe Pa was able to get in the "don't know if he's guilty" card in one of his quotes... yet that uncertainty had him do exactly how much follow up??? Please. This interview was a concentrated PR stunt by the family as the window was closing. Tired of this family playing naive and downright ignorant. You want to be bigger than the institution but then hide behind it at the first sign of outlash.

Bantered with a guy on Twitter yesterday for 15 minutes who tried to say we're hypocrites for blasting Paterno but leaving guys like John Calipari alone. Told him last I checked, Calipari didn't harbor a child rapist. He used the theory that Calipari ruins kids' lives with his fraudulent recruiting and ruins their futures because they're ineligible and all this nonsense. They end up broke and whatever. Ask Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans, and Marcus Camby how their lives are going. Then ask a Sandusky victim.
