I seldom do this and most of you know I am big into hip-hop, but my current Female Brit Alt phase has led me to an obsession with Polly Scattergood.

I just walk around the city listening to her and it's pretty perfect. I'm 99.99% sure this would have the same effect while driving down the interstate and 100% all but maybe one of you will hate her, but fuck it.....

I didn't love it, but I didn't hate it either. The first one, I didn't really get into. But I liked the second one infinitely better. Glad I listened to both.

I'll keep Polly in mind when I get to my own Female Brit Alt phase.

I like her, the way I liked Hounds of Love many moons ago. Not to compare her to Kate Bush, just the sound is new and different. Needs a new producer, IMO. Too much dance/synth for me, but I like her voice and she's a good lyricist.

Agree with mother. The first one took a bit to develop, but it was worth the wait.

I prefer Lysa Aya Trenier in Sweetback's Lover, but that is mostly because Sweetback is backing and mixing the song. Anything with Stuart Matthewman is .

Oh I didn't mean to suggest it was chick music. It's not awful. It's actually more tolerable than 90% of the top 40 bullshit she usually listens to.

I just heard this on Pandora and I thought of this thread. She's not British. Says she's from Iceland. But since they are both islands in the pond I figured same difference. Anyway, thought there might be a chance e0y would dig it.
