Cavs were 3-for-24 on 3-pointers, and they were getting open looks all night. I estimate about 20 of the 21 misses were off the front of the rim, except for the two airballs. It's tough to hit those long jumpers on the west coast where the time change and travel takes just enough out of the legs to take a few inches off those shots.
Casspi was 0-for-5 from downtown and there's no rhythm or balance to his 3-point shots. Yeah, he blows right now. Couldn't hit water from a boat. He needs to figure it out or Scott will have to do something eventually. I could see Gee starting with Harangoty or Casspi off the bench. Eyenga could get another shot if he buckles down and does what they ask him to do in the B league.
The Blazers were very quick and active on defense forcing 24 turnovers. Samuels coughed up the ball 5 times in only 13 minutes. His ball handling and passing skills were obviously not close to good enough against a quality team like the Blazers. Hollins was a DNP for some reason.
Irving looked extremely good. If he ever develops a reliable 3-point shot - look out.
