I guess I haven't paid much attention to pro ball the last few years. When I saw Carter drive from the wing and put up a soft layup that Nick Collison redirected, I just shook my head. I know time catches up with everyone, but at the rate that fucker is aging he may want to get a will drawn up.

I think the #1 thing that came out of the LeBron debacle for me was that I learned to embrace Kobe. Pre-LeBron leaving... absolutely hated Kobe because he was just too good for me to be comfortable with. Yes, I may have been a hater. The guy was way to close to MJ's level which was a very sacred space for me. But now, shit! Last night that man went off and boy was it fun to watch.

Westbrook said that? Holy shit.

I've never heard any other player lap at the teat of the hometown fans only to leave them high and dry down the road.

Christ, that quote is just behind "We're gonna play them all one at a time" and "I'm just going to go out there and help the club" for lamest, most cliche'd mouth spew an athlete can utter.

Just the fact that he's gotten smart enough to know that he's a shitty 3-point shooter is a scary thought; he's only gotten more efficient. His PER currently sits at 40.76. Small sample size aside, that's amazing.

Wade bailed them out those last two possessions.

If Bron is content to mimic Wade after he hits game-winning shots like he did to Cam Newton Thurs. night and explain his low lob pass like tonight like a child begging for agreement then he's full blown Robin.

He's becoming a more offensively advanced Scottie Pippen at this point.

Kyrie had a nice game and good learning moment tonight. I was impressed. Still I am concerned we are Washington. We'll see though. Must move Andy and Jamo for youth/picks.

P.S. Steve Nash is awesome. That hasn't been thrown out there because Phoenix basically sucks but that guy is just really good for being where he is in his career. Hope he gets moved to a contender this year.

I don't expect it to continue, but of course you point is dead on. I just don't think he can avoid the hero moment. Ala the stupid lob pass that almost cost them the Minn game.

Kyrie has to continue to exploit that hearky jerky start stop ability he has in the paint. He doesn't have the blarring quickness of Rose of Westbrook, so he needs to be more crafty like CP3. He was able to knife through all three members of the Indy front court and get a bunny. Granger flashed, but Irving had just finished two more difficult attempts with his left hand to get the game tied.

Had the outside shot going early, but it went flat late. Hibbert was really sucking wind in the fourth. Some really ugly looking shooters early in this NBA season.

This Bulls Clippers game is absolutely stellar. I think I could watch it on a 3-day continuous loop. NBA at its finest. Clips could be a contender... short season certainly helps them.

Clips still need another big though for my liking but damn was Blake a beast. And D-Rose was D-Rose.

Nash is an ATG, just a shame his legacy will be slightly diminished by the fact he has no ring. Interesting to look at his career, he obviously became better as he matured and his numbers really got sick after he went to Pho (esp APG). But his TOV went up pretty high too, is that simply b/c of the style of play in Pho, which also attributed to his assists going up so much so quickly? Really perfected his shot the second half of his 15 yr career, looks like he has 2 years in him still.

Love Nash, and the guy is in great physical shape for a cat his age, however, hard to be an ATG playing half the game.

You could make an argument, that during his back to back MVP seasons, that the guy was the single worst defender in the league. For sure top 5. Which made those MVPS's a bit of a mystery to me.

Heat are going to continue to see zones throughout the year.

Knicks with a terrible performance today vs the Raptors at home. Dantoni with another stinkbomb coaching performance.

Orlando with a bad loss to the Pistons and break up the T-Wolves, beat the Spurs and continuing to play well without Barea.

I have less than zero idea how losing with that roster is D'Antonio's fault.

Especially with Amare out.

Preparation, game planning, in-game management, substitutions, the list goes on from the game.

Watched a bunch of the game and ever time I watch the Knicks I come away more and more unimpressed with him as a coach.

Roster has holes no question but it ain't losing at home to the Raptors bad.

Yeah, the depth on that team really supports strong coaching. That roster is TERRIBLE. And without Amare it is losing at home to the Raptors bad. No point, Bill Walker as your best bench guy, no PF, etc.

And let's not forget, D'Antoni's offense is predicated on putting the PG into a position where they have multiple options and are capable of exploiting the opposing team. Even Felton succeeded at this. The big plan he was forced to go with this year was running Melo as the Point Foward. Which, of course, yields 3 point chucking and ISO's.

I just am still amazed anyone could blame him for that team sucking. I don't think he's the greatest coach ever (although if not for a clothesline and two suspension he would have a title) but damn man, that roster is really fucking bad.

Anyway, Atlanta has to be one of the lowest basketball IQ teams of the east top half. No emotion, horrible body language and soooo much isolation. They had to bring Ivan Johnson, ya Ivan Johnson, in for big minutes to save them from getting blown out by a LeBron and Wade'less Heat.

Now into the 3rd overtime, same script, Miami has jumped to an early 2 possession lead and Atlanta and its crowd looks dead. Atlanta sucks as a sports team, but damn.

Oh, but Chuck has made it funny as hell. Near end of regulation with Atlanta seeming to have the game in hand he told the pilot to have his beer on ice (heading to NYC to host SNL). He has gotten progressively more snarky as these overtimes have piled up. Chuck is the only thing making this game worth watching.

It looked like there may have been some space, but the replay showed him sealed off. Just seemed Gooden took too long to decide eliminating any chance of Jennings rubbing off and put Jackson in a no option iso. But yeah that comeback puts such pressure on a team that once the first option is denied it gets less then fluid.

My favourite plodding West team from last year Portland seems to be playing at a much faster pace. Seems, because I have nothing to back it up, other then what I see and they now have the horses with Felton, Crash in his second year, and Crawford (mixed with 2nd and 3rd year youngins Matthews and Batum) replacing Miller and Roy.

They are my fav coming outta the West. Enough bench scoring, enough length, legit size bigs, good perimeter defense length.

Aldridge :thumb up: Chemistry :thumb up:

Said on the podcast this week Portland is going to win the West if Felton avoids a major mental meltdown, which is always possible.

And they are fifth in the NBA in pace right now.

Cavs playoff shot just increased exponentially with Horford hurt.

Someone in the East has to take the eight seed if the Hawks fall apart (as they should). Battle between Cavs, Mil, dead Horford ATL, Char to ensue!!!

Don't remember the last time the East was better than the West... maybe all the way back to the Jordan years? But I'll be damned if I've ever seen this much separation in quality between the two conferences. How about that game last night though? Good God was it great seeing those assholes miss all those free throws. Then Coach SPO (worst nickname ever in the history of nicknames), Bronny, and DWade crying like babies after each call, was the icing on the cake. Watched about 4+ Clippers games this year, and they've all been really good to watch.

JJ Hickson is going to lose his minutes very soon.

JJ Hickson has taken more long two's than shots at the rim this season.

Yeah.... I NAILED IT!!!

Oklahoma City, Russell Westbrook agree to multiyear extension, team announces. Sources say it's a five-year, $80 million deal.

Shut up e0y2e3 ;-) ;) - I was wrong. I'll say it before anyone has to. And yeah, I'm stunned but thrilled they're (apparently) keeping it rolling.

The Knicks are God awful. 16 made 3-pointers and still only shooting 32% against Miami. Horrible, horrible, horrible guard play.

If you have NBAtv or League Pass or whatever they're callin it these days, put the Clips v. Thunder game on. First quarter was amazing and I expect the rest of the game to follow suit.
