With three weeks left, if they started today ... some tasty 1st rd matchups. Jets/Pats and Tebow hosting the Inbred? And Lions/Saints and Falcons/Giants. You kidding me?

#6 NY Jets at #3 New England
#5 Inbred at #4 Tebow

#1 Houston and #2 Baltimore with byes

NFC

#6 Detroit at #3 New Orleans
#5 Atlanta at #4 NY Giants

#1 Green Bay and #2 San Fran get byes

AFC side, gonna be either the Steelers or Ravens IMO. NFC - winner of 2nd round NO at SF game will be a tough test for GB.

End of the day - rematch of last year's SB is my call.

I tried to get my MF'ing friend who has an online betting account to put $50 on the Ravens to be the AFC representative in the Superbowl at 3.5 to 1 odds. The fucking jackass was worried he would be 'tempted' too much and just coulnd't take care of it for me. I'm still a bit pissed.

Tebows vs. Inbred? Yuck. The one game I root for Tebow would naturally be the one game he would lose. The magic fairies that power this run would ensure it.

I think NO passes SF up for the Bye. SF just isn't that good. Defense can only carry you so far these days. Look for the Steelers to lay a whuppin' on them this week.

I also think how the Pats play the Tebows this week will tell a lot about where they are. A close win or a loss = No Shot. But if they blow the Tebows to poorly thrown smithereens, maybe they're coming together at the right time.

Finally, I think the Ravens are markedly better than the Inbred this year, and finally overcome that hurdle so they get the honor of getting a 50 burger dropped on them in the SB by the Pack.

As usual, the AFC playoff picture is filled with teams I don't like vs. teams I hate.

PS - I think the Saints proved this week just how good a team they are outdoors. In Lambeau, in January... not seein' it.

Yes. To beat the Steelers, you either need to outscore them (which Brady can do), or minimize the turnovers (which Tebow can do). Obviously, the Patriots have the better chance of beating the Steelers than the Broncos. Flacco has proven he likes to give away the ball against the Steelers in the postseason. Same goes for Sanchez. If Schaub can come back at full health, they also have a shot. Right now though, I see the Pats as the team to beat. However, if Pittsburgh wins tonight and gets the #1 seed, that will swing some favor back in their direction. Tough to win in Heinz in the Winter, but if there is a guy who has proven he can do so, it is Brady.

Also worth noting is about the 9,000 plays Rodgers has made this year under duress and outside the pocket.

Which kinda the point on Colt's ceiling ILO. Rodgers under pressure rolling to the sideline still has 75 % of the field open to him. Colt rolling to the sideline has....well....the sideline 5-15 yards in front of him viable.

I saw Fat Elway lead a team to a Super Bowl with a decaying offensive line around him, and an o-coordinator literally saying in "Part of our gameplan is to let him get hit sometimes".

now? He's winning games with Antonio Brown and Mike Wallace. Not exactly superstars by any stretch.

Again..a good or great QB can make plays with whatever is around him in this day and age in the NFL.

I watched Favre succeed with guys like Schreoder and others who had no buisness cashing NFL checks. Seriously, I know how things ended up and how brutal the end of his career went, but they royally fucked farve in his prime as far as surrounding him with a decent team. Its a testimate to how good he was when that team continued to win 10 games or more about every year. This team Rodgers is on is an order of magnitude better than any team Farve was on save for 95 and 96. The 97 team wasn't as good as either of those despite getting back to the SB.

Anyways yah, a great QB can make plays with shitty support. Real shitty in some cases.

It was Sterling Sharpe whose career ended in 94, and Driver came in 2000 and is good, but he isn't even Hines Ward good, let alone Michael Irving or Chris Carter or Larry Fitz. He was solid.

And personally I was never much for Freeman, I thought he was overrated.

Sterling was by far the best receiver Favre had and he was gone two years after Favre got the starting gig.

I would argue that Rodgers would have made Freeman and crew even better.

His ball placement, in order to get YAC is unlike any I've ever seen - clearly better than Favre's was.

And FWIW, I think Driver was one of the more underrated guys in the league. Like Ward, you can win a lot with a guy that has excellent reciving skills AND does everything else well.

Also, perhaps Brett would have fared a little better in regards to those around him if he wouldn't have played his little games, causing them to reshuffle their draft every 10 seconds, till they finally got sick of his bullshit.

How funny is it that as great as Favre was, he ain't even the best Packer QB of the last 15 years. Worse is that you can tell he CARES about his legacy - as most selfish players do.

Anyways, to the point of QB's making receivers....bottom line, the current crew of Packers, while superior to those Favre had, would not be as good as they are currently with Favre as they are now. And Freeman, Sharpe and company would be better than they were if Rodgers was chucking it.

Well, I never said Rodgers wasn't better Lead, and for a reason. Never meant to even imply it. I was comparing Ben and Co. With Favre and Co., not Favre to Rodgers as a QB. Rodgers hasn't had to play with receivers like that. Manning since Harrison has been gone would be another example as well as Brady in several seasons.

All of them have been saddled with far worse receivers than Ben has had, IMO.

I'm not with you on the draft angle at all, but not important anyways though to this.

I don't think it will make any difference. NO and Brees are in the zone and at home and Matty melted Ice hasn't proved he can win a playoff game. Albeit Ryan has a small playoff sample size, but I believe in the prove you can do it first before I assume he can.

ANY team is CAPABLE of beating any other team. But unless Big Ben does not play, I do not think the Broncos' defense will be able to stop the Steelers' offense, and Tebow will fall short this season. He also has to get by the Chiefs first and Orton is familar with the Broncos' defense, so that could be a nailbiter

Lions/Saints over under of 58.5 the highest total in NFL Playoff HISTORY. That one should be fun Sun night. As should Giants/Falcons. Bengals/Texans is possibly the lamest NFL playoff game ever. Steelers at Tebow will be fun as well.

The Saints have changed my mind. I've been saying Packers/Steelers rematch since day one. I'm now saying Saints over the Ravens.
