In the FSU ND game there were 3 recvrs on the field who had a better game than Floyd who dropped a wide open TD early that would have been the difference...

He still doesn't look as strong and polished as RG tho

I have no idea if he will be good in the pros or not, but since many effective offenses are putting their QBs in the shotgun a great amount of time I do not think it's a concern if he can read defenses from under center. I would imagine if he can read them from the shotgun, he can pick it up from under center.

Just seems to me that worrying about a guy whether a guy who might be a great QB from the shotgun taking snaps under center is like worrying that a home run hitter can't bunt. You probably don't really need him to be all that good at it anyway.

Am I crazy for having the belief that in order to be the quickest contender in the AFC North would be to run a more pass-friendly offense that would be somewhat no-huddle/spread like? Versus say, trying to copy off the Steelers/Rats?

That game was awful. I've watched video games with better D. If that's what football is destined to become, I'm gonna start watching chess.

EO is right in his assertion that that was probably the least impressive game that I've seen RG3 play b/c he didn't have to do anything but hand off. The first 3 drives were damn damn impressive, then he did nothing because Washington asked him to do nothing. They dropped the Safeties 20 yards out of long-ball fear and let Baylor rush them to death.

If we pass on RG3 and stick with Colt, we might be in position to get that Price kid next year. :thumb up:

Seriously, how does a team drop their safeties like that and never adjust? I mean, really? It worked for those sacks in the first half but once Baylor adjusted the play calling to account for THE SAFETIES RUNNING BACKWARDS EVERY PLAY it kinda became a self-defeating prophecy, eh?

In other good news on the RG3 front, looks like POS is still going to play on Sunday, which means A) the #3 pick is in sight, and B) Maybe the Browns can turn a relatively minor injury into something that nags for years.

This draft will make or break the next decade for the Browns. Two franchise QB's and the Browns are the only team with the ammo to get it done. I'd do whatever it takes to get either Luck or RG3 but I won't go so far as Mark May to put RG3 above Luck.

And, as eeyore said, if the Browns don't trade up, and RG3 is sitting there when they pick, and they pass on him; I'm done. For good. Will never watch a Browns game again (like they give a shit) or spend a dime on anything Browns related, merchandise wise or TV wise. Wouldn't even take free tickets to the game.

The Browns moved back and collected an extra 1st round pick from Atlanta last year for a reason. This is the reason. Get it done Heckert.

Baltimore-Cincy is also Sunday at 4:15, so the Steelers won't know whether to go with POS or Batch right away. Good bet that Tomlin will be scoreboard-watching, tho.

Didn't the Steelers game get flexed out, too? I think it was originally supposed to be at 1, then moved to 4. Be a real biyatch if the NFL flexed a game and that ended up coming back to haunt us, draft wise.
