I never "identified with his personality", but he was a hell of a player. One of the all timers...
What do you mean Akron isn't in the same market as Cleveland? We're close enough to be fucked by it's sports curse.

I've never had a problem with Jeter. Class act, has managed to stay out of the headlines being the biggest rock star in the biggest market in America. Smart enough not to get married. And the dude just balls when all the chips are in the middle of the table. Have a lot of respect for the guys that can take their games to new levels when their team needs it most.

And he finds the particular girls who only want a signed baseball. Or two.

Only Yankee I didn't mind.. However, he did seem like a bitch that time he pretended he was HBP and in fact wasn't. I don't care who you are, you're a bitch if you make a move like that. Still like Jerik Deter

I got a little pissed while reading that, then I realized my Pa never raised me to be a hater. I hate the Yankees, yet I have deep respect for their history/tradition. Jeets is the Dimaggio of the 90's-00's and I don't think I could possibly give him any better of a complement than that.

Bernie Williams is the only Yankee I've ever liked but I can tolerate Jeter

That play he made backing up Posada in the 2001 ALDS is one of the best of all time.
