So...trying to make a list of what Shurmer and the current admin. has fucked up thus far:

1.) Pissed off Hillis
2.) Got swept by a rookie QB from the Bengals that looks like the lead in "Children of the Corn"
3.) Against the Oakland Raiders they are able to catch AN ONSIDE KICK. Down by a score they find themselves unable to punch it in the endzone
4.) Winning a game..9 to..6...against the fucking Seahawks
5.) Losing a game against the Rams on a batched snap instead of trying to get in position to score a TD late in the 4th
6.) Ray Rice runs over the team for 204 yards, only this is witness by a collection 5000 fans in the soaking rain at Cleveland Browns Stadium while Ray Lewis and Co. are yucking it up.
7.) Pissing off Cribbs
8.) Was unable to punch it in the first against the Steelers in the 1st quarter only putting up a Field goal. Despite knocking out Roethlisberger and stopping the Steelers on a goal line stand, they are unable to score more than a field goal. Late in the 4th with the team driving down the field, McCoy is hit helmet to helmet and clearly showing signs of concussion, against better judgement Shurmer pushes him in over backup Senaca Wallace leading to an INT in the endzone and a big ol "l" on the scoreboard
9.) His team has not scored a touchdown in the 3rd quarter this entire season.
10.) For being such an offensive oriented HC, the Browns average the following respectivly: 14.6 points per game (28th in the league), 290.7 yards per game (30th in the league), 197 passing yards per game (24th), AND 93.7 RUSHING YARDS PER GAME (30th)

That next-to-last drive was blown up on 2nd down, when he took the snap, dropped back 2 steps and looked up at 3 Steelers who had just blown right through and were about to kill him. On the 3rd down play he tries to give Mo a chance to make a play on the ball and the guy doesn't even leave his feet, instead watching the CB play the ball for the INT. Greg Little drops the ball when they finally let Colt throw beyond the marker on a 3rd and 6 earlier in the game. Meanwhile, I saw Colt make some NFL throws when finally given the opportunity, hitting a couple of downfield passes and getting the ball into some tight windows...all the while continuing to take his normal thrashing. I'm sorry, but by surrounding Colt with this supporting cast and then saddling him with Shurmur's "offense" it is the equivalent equivalent of tossing him into a lake of poop and asking him to come out smelling like a rose. It just ain't going to happen.

Other random thoughts:
Hillis is not the kind of back who is going to be effective on only 10 carries a game.
Obi Wan should be getting the carries that Hardesty got if they are only going to give Hillis 10 totes.
James Harrison is a classic Steeler cheap-shot artist and thug. When does it reach the point where he gets suspended for head hunting?
Shurmur is a laughingstock. And I think the Browns are going to be in real hot water with the league for putting Colt back in there with a concussion.
I hope Mike Mayock isn't too exhausted after blowing his wad 30 times in 3 hours over Ben Roethlisberger. Good grief, I kept expecting them to show Mayock cleaning off his pants with a terrible towel.

Anyways, if we all could see the glaze in Colt's eyes from our couches, you would think someone standing right in front of his face would pick up on it.

And I'd echo what Hiko has to say about Colt. I like the guy, he's in a very tough situation, and while I wouldn't bet my life on it, (Like I would've with Couch or Chazzy F. at this point) I just don't see him able to get to the high level you need at that position. By the way, the pressure he got in this game is a prime example - against the Pittsburgh Steelers, and teams of that ilk, well, that's how it's gonna be. The line wasn't awful. Again, NFL 2011, good teams are gonna pressure. If you can't handle some pressure, you're in the wrong league. Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the game on him, just observing 12 weeks into the season.

And Christ, another year of Schurmer might just do it. I've been trailing away from the game on Sundays more and more each week. If that moron starts next season I'm not sure how much I'll be able to take. Next year will be an absolute joke, good draft or bad, free agent talent influx or not, absolutely ZERO respect in that lockerroom.

To me, McCoy looks like a little boy out there. Like a high school kid playing in a SEC game.

I like McCoy too. And he clearly doesn't have a lot to work with. But come on. He's just not good enough. It's that simple. He's too limited. His arm is too weak to make big time game winning throws.

You gotta cut cord, it's that simple. Priorities A, B, and C this off-season have to be finding a way to get a young quarterback in here that has a chance to be a franchise QB.

A. No matter how bad the WR's, or the O Line, or the Running Game, a non-functioning QB has to take some of the blame.

B. That pressure wasn't that bad last night. What the Ravens did to SF a couple weeks ago... now THAT was pressure. Colt wasn't in any more pressure than POS - the one big hit he took was when he was scrambling around. He ran right into that head shot.

C. When it's clear that they're bringing the house, no amount of protection will hold up. That's when good QB's make quick decisions and get the ball out of their hands in a hurry (think how Peyton Manning beats the blitz). Colt holds it.

D. I think it was clearly demonstrated last night on some replays that WR's were open if he had thrown it ealier, but the delay allowed the CB to catch up or the S to move over. Some of the delays weren't his fault, but some of them were. A lot of times, that's where his picks come from.

E. I'm not sure I see a lot of difference between concussed Colt and non-concussed Colt.

F. I certainly agree that the playcalling isn't doing Colt any favors.

At the risk of poisoning you with coherence and correct grammar, I'll post one more response to your drivel.

Colt isn't perfect. He isn't as good as Ben Roethlisberger. He can't win games by himself. As I said, if the Browns conclude that they need another QB then I'm fine with it. I just don't think anyone was going to be successful behind this o-line, with thsee receivers, running this archaic and predictable offense.

Should a concussed Colt have been sent back in for Wallace on the crucial drive? No way...but that's a separate issue related to coaching (outside of the fact that it further set McCoy up to fail).

I don't have any personal investment in Colt McCoy. I'm not even thinking he's "the guy." His arm strength is a huge limitation, and his decision making has been discouraging. So take your crap about chanting and worshipping away from here. I am just not convinced that this season gave us a truly fair read on the scope of his ability.

I just want this team to win. Unlike you, I'm not convinced that every big-armed QB who enters the draft is the next coming. I just hope that they give the next guy a better chance to succeed than they gave Colt.
