So... would you call and offer Colt McCoy for a 1st Round pick?

Sure, they should laugh at you, but do you call anyway? Colt's obviously proven much more than Yates, and has more potential than Clemens. The Raiders gave up two 1st rounders for Carson, so Colt should be worth at least one, right? (in that alternate universe) Texas boy, young, come home to take another Texas team to the promised land.

Hell, I'm probably overvaluing Colt with that post. He ain't worth a 1st and you wouldn't find anyone to give one up for him. But I'm guessing that he's far better than anything they've got at this point, and how they might even be envious of us for having a QB as "good" as McCoy.

Joe Haden, Alex Mack, and probably Jackson. Hell, you can make the argument for Taylor and Sheard, too. Browns need to keep the few yoots that can play at a high level, not reset THOSE players. I know it was hyperbole but come on.

More than that. I'll assume we are talking about late first rounds picks. I'd say that I would not trade Thomas, Mack, Taylor, Sheard, Haden, and Hagg.

It's not that I necessarily think that those guys are all probowlers. But they are k own quantities and productive/very productive players who would not be easily replaced. Sure, there is the potential that draft picks we recieved for any of those players might turn out to be great. But I think there's even more potential that the players we would draft wouldn't be as good as the ones we gave up.

Look at Taylor. We got him in the first round. Hasn't that guy been every bit as good as wencould have reasonably hoped he would be when we drafted him? If we drafted him in the first, and he's lived up to our expectations so far, why would we trade him for another first?

Colt was not even close to being the reason we lost that game. c'mon man. Colt made a couple throws yesterday when he had time, stepping up in the pocket, and throwing an accurate pass.

Would I take a First round pick for him, of course, the grass is always greener....

We were great in the first half because we didnt drop the 7 yard first down pass, and had manageable 3rd downs.

Cinci became agressive on 2nd and longs in the second half and took advantage of our slow/weak/fat RT

I think yesterday was a totally accurate representation of what Colt McCoy is. If Little doesn't do his best Rocky Belk impersonation, he ends up at like 22-34 for 200 yards. Efficient enough, just not good enough to beat a 9-10 win team on the road. The 4th quarter INT also defined McCoy ... when forced out of the pocket and in need to get rid of the ball and throw it away, he's just not athletic or strong enough to heave it out of bounds, and then it becomes a turnover that leads to a 4Q loss.

I think McCoy may be the best QB we've had here since 1999. I also think he's not a starter in this league. I think he's an above average backup. But for all the reasons he lasted till the 3rd round, you'd have to surround this kid with an insane amount of talent to compete for division and conference titles with him.

It's right there for everyone to see. Heckert and Holmgren aren't idiots.

Barring heroics in the four Baltimore/Pittsburgh games, I think it's a lock the Browns go after another QB this off-season. Either Matt Flynn from GB or one from the draft in the tier below Luck.
