Info confirmed yesterday.

- Netjets flew Meyer up on Thursday.

- Deal done. 7 years - 40 million

- Luke fickell retained as Asst. Head Coach - in fact he was involved in recruiting Meyer
- Greg Studwara - Offensive Coordinator - BGSU connection, currently OLine coach LSU
- DJ Durkin - Defensive Coordinator - FL LB Coach
- Zach Smith - WR Coach - G.A. FL - WR Coach Temple (Earle Bruce grandson)
- Mickey Marotti - Dir Football Ops - Strength coach FL
- Stan Drayton - retained by OSU - moves from WRs back to RB coach - RB coach FL

Job opening will be posted Monday/Tuesday as per State/Federal regulations - announcement Week from Tuesday @ OSU v. Duke

Less certain, but likely that Gene Smith will be re-assigned as SID.

Yeah I just dont really buy the Luke Fickell parts of those rumors, but hey who am I?

I think he has to be the D-coordinator, and Vrabel would probably need to be retained as a DL/LB coach, as Luke did convince him to retire when Vrabel reportedly wanted to play one more year. Not seeing Fickell then recruiting a new HC and ditching a good friend in the process.

Even then that whole scenario sounds completely ridiculous to me.

It's a little beyond the pale that Meyer would be talking to OSU while Fickell's in place [though I'm starting to believe it has happened]. I seriously doubt the guys gone out an populated an entire staff of currently employed coaches.

Also, I'm skeptical of whether a new coach keeps the old coach on staff, and if Fickell stays willingly. Gotta think someone, somewhere would hire him to run a program. I mean failing at OSU does not equal failing in the MAC.

No way could a whole staff be assembled that fast without major media getting wind of it.
Your also talking about a lot of current coaches getting let go, not saying that it wont eventually happen , but you would think the University would be a tad more sensitive than telling a bunch of guys they will be shit canned right before Xmas.

I have heard the Greg Studwara rumor as well, but I think its more conjecture of who people think Meyer would want , than anything else.

If nothing else changes , you got to imagine Bollman is out. Id like to see them bring in Offense minds who suit the offense to the talents of its players, and not the other way around, and I believe Meyer is the perfect example of coach who does that.

That being said I still think Meyer's decision to come here or not wont be made until he knows exactly what the NCAA punishment will be.

Everything I have seen/read to this point says its over. Meyer to OSU is a done deal between 5-6MM per year. Announcement next week, going into the CCG.

Great move, lots of free publicity as announcers talk about what a huge get this is for tOSU.

DONE DEAL, remain skeptical if you like, but I will prefer the taste of my Thanksgiving turkey knowing that Urban Meyer will be the HC at tOSU for 2012.

When we thought we lost Miles to Michigan last year, we realized quickly that the coaching pool is never as deep as you think it is and the grass isn't always greener. That being said, Meyer is head and shoulders above anything else out there right now. Great hire.

Not much input I can give on coach Stud. We hired Steve Kragthorpe (former NFL QB coach and Louisville HC) as our OC this year, but since he was diagnosed with Parkinsons before the season he and Stud have shared OC duties. But Stud was with Urban back from Bowling Green, so Urban knows his capabilities a whole helluva lot more than I do. I know Miles loves him and when we've had other assistants move to head coaching positions they always try to poach him, so that's all good signs.

A month? More like to whole year. It's not that they couldn't look past the likes of Colorado State or UNLV.....

Again, it's not that they couldn't put up a good game, possibly win even - it's just that it's not fair to the teams that are actually having to expend energy over the course of the year to have to contend with someone who can essentially coast from week to week, while resting dinged players, taking off the second half etc.

Boise won't be there cause they lost a game with a schedule that only has a couple possible losses for ANY decent team that plays it.
