Are you saying that when you made this thread, and titled it "Who needs the NBA" it didn't occure to you the reaction you would get, especially for e0y? Seriously? This was just supposed to be the season long "let's talk about the Vikings, Zips, and Flashes" thread?

Because if that's really what you thought, and the reaction didn't occure to you, then you really need to be wearing a helmet at all times.

If it did occure to you, then you were just stirring shit up...which is cool. No problem with that. But, either you were trolling, or "should be using rounded scissors" stupid. Which is it?

Nothing I've enjoyed more personally than watching last year's MAC final at the Q (where, by the way, "thuggery" was on prominent display at games end). Has nothing to do whatsoever with an either/or NBA/NCAA choice.

NBA playoffs > all college hoops.

March Madness > vast majority of NBA reg. season and occasionally = NBA playoffs.

NCAA season > number of good story lines & reasons to watch from start to finish v. NBA.

NBA & NCAA both have dry spots during their seasons.

There is very little value in pro sports period.

I don't really drink it. My wife likes it. It's OK once or twice right at the beginning of summer when you're all excited because you got a couple hot days. It's better than Blue Moon which, if you're not a dumbass, was my point.

I'm not anti-NBA, it's just not my sport. If the Cavs are good, I'll watch. But basketball is not like the NFL. I don't sit and watch the Celtics and the Bulls. Or the Blue Devils and Kentucky. The NBA playoffs CAN be as exciting as a big college matchup in person. Other than that, meh. I watched the finals so I could see if my observation of LeChoke came through, since I took so much shit on here when I brought it up.

We don't get the Browns games down here in Central Fla. so I haven't seen them play once this year. I can't stand sitting in a bar for three hours of NFL on a crap tv without a laptop so that is out.

Thus, 8 or 9 weeks in and I haven't watched a single NFL game. I used to say the same thing about the NBA, and I was damn pissed after last year but now I admit if they were in-season, I'd definitely have it on the tube. Now I might put the NFL on as background noise after everyone goes to bed, but it's almost guaranteed I am not watching it. Bores me to no end to watch the 49ers play the Giants or whatever.

Why do the 2 have to be mutually exclusive? Pay more money (NBA) for a premium product & pay less money (NCAA) for an inferior product.

That said - I love my Vikings hoops and I hold them as close to my heart as I do the Cavs. Again - they are not mutually exclusive - it just so happens 1 product is better than the other (depending on what your definition of product is).

It's always fun to watch a team get built from the ground up and transform from a shit team to a top 50 team. And that is why I finally feel some solace in rooting for the Vikes.

Same goes with the Cavs. Irving & Thompson are just the beginning of the rebuild. Perhaps it's the entrepreneurial spirit in me - but I enjoy seeing massive progress

I get to 3-4 CSU games a year.

If sitting 8 rows behind Gary Waters for $15, watching his kids slap the floor on defense, and just kill themselves for Waters (who they clearly fear, respect, and love) doesn't do it for you - you're not a basketball fan.

I leave CSU games and I feel guilty watching the NBA for a week. Especially when I see a player so stoned he checks into the games with his warmup pants still on.

CSU is roughly the 50th best team in America. It's not Lakers/Celtics, nor is anyone pretending it is. But it's entertaining basketball. And there is no better live sport.

I'm going to try to follow the Flashes more closely this season.

Shit ain't a replacement for the NBA (which I've grown to enjoy it's post-season as one of the best in all of sports), but it's good to be able to watch a sports team that won't make me stab my eyes out while watching.

If Indeed there was/is an NBA season I'd be psyched to see Kyrie play and see what we've got in him. Last season was kinda futile, as there was really nothing to look forward to as a fan. This season? I'm excited. Plus, a fucking okc-chicago finals just would be amazing. Really hope that happens in the near future.

All that said, Go Flashes and Fuck Akron.

Zeke's still here, along with Cvet. Quincy Diggs is better than ever. And transfer Chauncey Gilliam looks to be the shaprshooter Akron hasn't had in years.
