There is lots of talent on this team, and the players often put themselves into position to win in spite of the staff. I am going to be really interested in what this team is able to do with a real staff next year.

Miller may not be able to throw the ball downfield, but man he makes some guys miss. Right now, I feel like we have the best playground football team in the NCAA.

I think it's some of all of that. Miller is simply young, the play calling is putrid and you can't tackle well sometimes and not others and NOT have some of it be on the players themselves.

This is by far the worst LB core I've seen in all my life. They can't tackle, they can't cover, and they don't make plays. A lot of hype and no payout.

The LB corps is awful. Worst I have seen at tOSU ever. My son made a great point today, one that I hadn't really noticed. He said that tOSU's LBs look soft (physically). He then went on to say that the LBs at Alabama and so on looked jacked. He said that as Sweat was wandering around with no helmet on, the camera panned to Klein right afterward and I noticed he is right. No one will ever claim that Sweat, Sabino and Klein are physical specimen. Frankly, they look fat and slow (Sabino less than the other two) relative to other high level LBs.

Miller is a freshman and he needs intelligent play calling to be successful. He needs short naked bootleg passes that only require him to read 1/2 the field. He needs screens and slants (you know easy stuff) that any WR should be able to get loose on with as much man as the Buckeyes are seeing. The WRs have some separation, you see it in the replays Miller is just not accurate enough yet. There is a lot of youth on the field, so you expect some bad plays, better to see bad plays from young players (Shazier etc.) than from seniors (Klein, Moeller etc.). It is time to bench a lot of upper classmen.

The coaching staff has so far proven to be inept at game management (see Miami timeouts etc.), horrible at mid game adjustments (see... every game), horrible at assessing their own talent (see Bauserman at QB and then B/U, see Klein over Shazier, makes you wonder who else is wrongfully buried on the depth chart), horrible at employing their own talent (can you believe that tOSU has not found a way to get Stoneburner the ball) and terrible at improving the overall level of team play as the season has progressed.

THis team is the same as it was 5 games ago. THe players (particularly the offense) are winning inspite of the coaching. Every game won thus far has relied on the talents of an individual player to do something amazing to make something out of nothing (see every QB draw called on 3rd and 15).
