If an older woman chasing a younger man is a cougar, does that make an older man chasing a younger boy a Nittany Lion?
Guess if you don't laugh, you'd probably cry.

The Penn State Creamery has removed the "Sandusky Blitz" ice cream flavor, named after former PSU assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, from its shelves and online menu, the Daily Collegian first reported yesterday.
Prior to the flavor's removal from the creamery website, The Big Lead got a screen grab of the ingredients. Sandusky Blitz was described as a "banana-flavored ice cream with chocolate-covered peanuts and caramel swirl."
Do ur dirt. ;-)

Cancel the rest of the season. At the very, very least. Vacating a slew of Paterno's wins--with the only decision being from '99 or '02?--and (again) canceling the football program (at least for an indefinite period of time) should be done as well, IMO.
If our perspective is truly this warped, it needs a harsh readjustment.

I'm in this corner now. Way too many voices of support aimed toward suspects in the know to hold onto any type of respect for innocent bystanders of the program (IE players fans).

Can't paint them all that way though FUDU. I went to PSU two weekends ago with a buddy of mine who went there (as did his wife). I asked him what he was thinking and feeling and he said, "Sick. I've lost any and all respect and admiration for the people I grew up with who are part of the program. I'm disgusted."
And, at the risk of sounding like that angry, old man, the kids singing his name lack any perspective and a lot of life experience. I think we're also not naive enough to believe this wouldn't happen anywhere else where kids and group-think combine.

ESPN Sportsnation poll:
Should Joe Paterno coach Penn State this weekend against Nebraska?
Yes: 61%
No: 39%
PA numbers:
Yes: 68%
No: 32%

Where are the completely innocent outsiders?
If you're a sports fan, to some degree you're an enabler to an awful lot of ugly behavior in our culture. This scandal wouldn't have been possible without us.

Amen. Cleveland Fans (in general) are completely guilty of enabling LeBron to be the d-bag that he is. And it's not like they learned from it - they turned around and idolized Peyton Hillis instead.

Not sure I agree with all that, but I do get what you're saying. I mean if you're suggesting that all the fans that have known of this secret/well hidden history and still wake up every Saturday and go tailgating in their white shirts are hypocritical POS scumbags well I can't speak to that simply b/c maybe some people are holding on tight to the notion of giving benefit of the doubt when one is not proven guilty?
But I get it, what does it say about so many, so many of us fans that seemingly put these sporting events so high on a pedestal, if we don't instantly walk away from our loyalties with these programs/franchises when something this real and this important takes place.

Which gets to the point that a lot of this 'moral indignation' actually may be more of a parochial, "Yeah...eff you..how you like this shit Penn State...deal with it". Any loss you can deal a rival is a good loss, even if it's something like this in the court of uninformed public opinion.

Anyone who supports PSU football contributes to an atmosphere where, to take one of several examples from that Grand Jury Report, a janitor's first thought upon witnessing Sandusky blowing a kid in the shower is to fear for his job if he says anything.

I think caution needs used when talking about the notion of idolizing these athletes, b/c frankly as a grown man I have zero vested interest or emotional ties to any of these guys outside of hoping they perform well when on the field for a team I root for. Nor do I know any grown men who idolize a pro athlete. I do get the point though that society in general allows these men to be idolized. It just sounds elitist and is a pretty broad stroke to state it as you did IMO.

LeBron was a douchebag long before most Cleveland fans (in general) knew who he was. As soon as it was apparent that he was gifted his 'family', 'friends' and AAU system saw to that.
Not saying he wasn't enabled in a huge way by Cleveland fans, but his path to douchebaggery began long before his name was known by most. And I don't think for a second it would have been different had LeBron started in any other city.

Paterno may not get to go out according to how he's dictating terms.
If these dorks can't see the fact that the image of paterno "coaching" or whatever the freak he does the next several Saturdays and on bowl day will leav an indelible stench on everythin Penn State even worse that it has they are derelict.

Two separate conversations I was having. Agreed. However, orgs like the Jimmy V Foundation (and thousands of others including Sandusky's) would also be missing. We've just got the priorities so far out of whack that it's probably too far gone.
