College Hoops Pool

Thinking something pretty simple to help manufacture a little additional interest in the college basketball season.

Along the lines of ...

~$50/man - assume 10-15 people
~Each player drafts 5-10 college hoops teams (random draft order, snake draft)
~Most total regular season wins for your roster of teams wins, pay 1st and 2nd
~If we get enough interest, could pay out conference winners, #1 seeds in tourney, etc.

Tweak suggestion I like from jpd1224 ...

Suggestion: We have NCAA conference pool that is awesome. We do separate for FB and baskets. We use 8 players 8 conferences but you can use any number you want. Say you use 8 and eight: use conference record only. 80 points for first among those teams drafted 70 for 2nd down to 10 for last. 75 if two tie for first etc. Draft one school from each. Of the designated leagues. Example first pick takes Duke then he is done for ACC.

Draft will take place in here, and will start Tuesday morning (9/8) at 8 AM EST in here. Picks or lists can also be emailed or texted to me (or someone else) and I will post your picks if you are going to be away from a computer.

Only a 5 round draft, so it shouldn't take more than a couple days.

Total regular season wins for your five team portfolio wins the pool. First tiebreaker will be lowest total aggregate seeds in the NCAA Tourney. So if you have two 1 seeds, a 3 seed, and two five seeds - your total would be 15. Teams that do not make the tourney (unlikely any in a tiebreak scenario would have a non-tourney team) would get a total of 17 for tiebreak purposes.

I will also post standings updates in here periodically once the season gets going.
