JP, Looking for a rules clarification. I represent Thing 2. Our intention was to post Dallas this week. I was unable to get to my computer Sunday morning but remembered from past years that if you dont post a team, you automatically get the team of the highest point spread favorite which you haven't yet selected. In this case, for us, that would be Dallas, so I didnt panic or try to call. Figured we had Dallas. I was informed today that we are DQ'd. Surprised me. I was unaware of the rule change. When did it change? If so, why did it change? Is the rule change posted anywhere?

We have not had a default for several years.

In each of weeks four and five, an entry posted a duplicate pick,
and neither was afforded a default pick.

In previous years, we indeed had a default which was the biggest fave not yet taken.
It was changed due to: 1) criticism from other players and 2) putting the burden on the pool operator to do the work for you.
We later changed the default to the Monday Night underdog if not already taken. We then eliminated the default altogether.

The other survivor pool I'm in gives the Browns as the default pick. Pretty effective deterrent.

JP, you should not have to bow out becuase you're computer got hacked in to. You would have never taken New England already having picked them in week one. Your original pick was Atlanta correct? And for the integrity of the league?? Wasn't Ekoniak once involved?? So too late for that. I want to win this as bad as the next guy but wrong is wrong. That's my two cents. Let's hear from the other "survivors".

JP, not sure what to say about you being hacked. At first, I thought you were joking, but if it is true, you should not be penalized.

Don't want to beat a dead horse here, but the analogy to teams picking the same NFL team twice does not fit. The whole idea of the survivor pool is that you cannot pick the same team twice. Someone who picks the same team twice should not get a default pick. Goes against the clearly understood rule of the game. Not saying a team that does not post a pick is entitled to a default pick, but that used to be your rule, and until yesterday we thought that was STILL the rule???

I agree...I do not think that JP should be penalized. I can not imagine any person in this contest that would have taken the New England Patriots on Sunday even if they had not already selected them. My vote is to let him back in.

As for the default pick, I remember two or three years ago that we did away with the default. In my opinion, we were down to the final 7 players, I would think that you could find the time to make your pick or at least let someone know.

This is a tough one. The analogy on duplicate picks is that a duplicate pick was once considered the same as a no pick. Both were deemed void.
My duplicate pick also lost; I just hope you guys think that with a "double loss" I am out for next year too.
