I'm not so sure...a compelling argument can be made that raking leaves would be a whole lot more fulfilling than watching this display of suck.

Boston quit the Bruins when Jacobs took over, ran them penny pinching bull-shit style and tried to ruin the team.

Cleveland front runs every franchise they have except the Browns SSS. It's effing mind blowing.

I seem to recall hearing Simmons mention in a podcast that if not for Bob Kraft taking over the pats they would have been in STL.

Not sure if that should be thrown into the argument or not.

Pats are tough to compare. They were never Boston's team. It's always been MLB, NBA, Hockey here.

That is why Pat's fans and their front running here annoy me.

Inconceivable!

An argument for raking leaves doesn't include sitting your ass and drinking beer. Which is why the Browns game wins.

I'm done w/ Ohio. May or may not post here in the No Holds Bar or the Movies forum, but I am done watching these teams.

Only the Indians still have me invested.

Regarding the browns, what the fuck are we supposed to do? Jump ship until they become good (if they ever do) and then jump back on? Isn't that worse?

My attention has certainly wained. I listened to about half the game today, and that was plenty.

Just don't care enough. Anymore I can't think of a single thing less important to me on a Sunday then the Browns.

is it bad that I actually do not want the Cavs to do well again so that we can score another high 1st rounder (2 again if possible) and continue to build this team to be a contender again?

I want Kryie to win ROY, but I want to be in the discussion for the lotto.

Hey, say what you want about GWB, and the nation might be in a bit of a bad spot right now, but ask yourself this?...How much worse off would we be in Ohio if the 2 gay guys down the street were allowed to get a piece of paper that said they are "married"?

If we had to ruin the nation to prevent that then so be it.

I also don't think it's necessarily fair to compare Browns fandom with the Indians. To be a Browns fan you need to devote 3 hours once a week on their day off to following the team.

It's easy to be apathetic about the Browns and still do it. I think the level of apathy is pretty high. People are in that stadium for social reasons, not fan reasons.

So says the state that gave us Mitt Romney, Celtic Pride, and Red Sox Nation.

True story: Went to the Monsters game last Sunday, team wins in a 4-0 shutout. Came home, sat down to watch the news, got a sports section full of high school playoff matchups and not even a mention of the hockey score. Welcome to Ohio.

"Today was kind of a weird experience," Reed said. "They were setting me free a lot off the edge and I don't know if it was just [the Browns'] protection scheme or the crowd noise, but that was fun. I did miss a couple of opportunities 'cause I couldn't believe that they weren't blocking me."

Celtics are worth cheering for.

Sawx are a GREAT franchise, regadless of how you feel about this stupid shit.

The Indians are actually a very well run team when balancing profit and production.

Yet you all dick ride the Browns.

I'm going w/ the warriors and Indians as all I follow in Sports aside from my college/buckeye thing.

How many playoff appearances have the Tribe had since 2002?

And the Browns were once a great franchise, the Tribe, unfortunately were a punchline from about the mid-60's to the mid-90's.

I don't fault the Tribe for their sucking in a way though, in a perfect system we wouldn't be seeing these players being overpayed by those in NYC and Bos. and us being forced to be their minor leagues.

Fuck, the Cavs history was a joke up until a certain jerkass from Akron was drafted. They had only reached the Eastern Conference finals once prior to that and were kind of an afterthought for a decent amount of time.

You're arguing for one bad team over another.

That's kinda absurd if you think about it.

"WELL THE INDIANS SUCK, BUT AT LEAST THEY'RE BETTER MANAGED AT SUCKING THAN THE BROWNS".

that's what it boils down to.

No championships and a lot of losing.

No, The Indians gave this town 6 years of awesome in the 90's and gave us a few years of awesome in the 2000s.

This does not directly correlate with the Browns in 1988 (before you were born) or the Browns in 1964.

The Warriors? As in, like, the Golden State Warriors? I can't think of another one.

I love the Indians. I'm one of the few around here that agree that they are well run. They've always been my #1.

I'm an OSU grad so I'm kind of off the chart irrational about them.

I could give a fuck about Gilbert. I'd just like to have basketball games on. Fuck the other stupid shit about Lebron.

But I'm also a big Browns fan. I love the Browns. It sucks that they suck. I dont let them ruin my day anymore or anything. I understand that they dont deserve my devotion, but whatever. I ask again...what the hell other option do I have?

Ever heard of the farking CUBS? Browns have the best fans in football. Why? Hell if I know, but if everybody picked up and quit with them as their team, they'd be gone pretty quick. I'd consider myself a joke and a terrible 'sports fan' if I quit rooting for them. Did I watch all of todays game? Hell No. It pissed me off so I switched to NO TB. That doesn't make me any less of a 'fan.' Right now, they just plain old don't deserve to be watched unless you're looking through the eyeholes of a paper bag, that is. :tool:

Well, I was there and I saw what you did
I saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off the grin, I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies

1. Fans at Reliant Stadium can actually stand up during games without fear
2. Texans played a lot of cover 1 - Browns WRs often single covered with no safety help
3. I have seen HS football games with a better offensive concept than the Shurmur WCO
4. The more I see of this team, the more I hate them
5. Colt is probably not the guy, but few QBs in the league are facing as many obstacles as he does on a game in game out basis
6. The book is out on the Browns O - 8 or 9 in the box, press coverage on the outside, take away the quick slant
7. We left at the end of the 3rd - it was so depressing there was no reason to stick around
8. This team is very very hard to root for - they have little or no character and no identity
I don't need to be patient, they're going to be shit forever.

Those were great times. No Doubt.

But jesus, it would just be nice if the damn owner could spend a few bucks and pay to keep the talent here or bring us a few key fa's.

You feel like, at the very least the Browns may have some weird chance in hell of pulling something out of their ass and coming back to finally put a winner on the field.

The Tribe? Owner ain't bringing back a dude like CC.o

And you're right. My only perspective of even "good" browns football begins and ends with "Run William Run"

Half (maybe more?) of the people at the Cubs games are there bc it's a social event, and Wrigley Field is one of, if not the #1 most historic ballpark in all of baseball. There are ALOT of die-hard Cubs fans out there, and they have sucked for a looooong time (except for a few bright spots over the last few decades).

Think about this: IF, 1) The Browns had a coach who didn't cling to this bullspit WCO scheme every week no matter how bad it was the previous week. 2)Hillis was playing like he did the first 12 weeks of last year 3)There weren't any other KEY terrible injuries the Browns have had this year. If these 3 things were different we'd be looking at a much better team right now. I thought the Browns had a good chance at a decent season this year. But some intangibles happened and they didn't have anything to back them up. That is not going to make me stop following my team.

Think about you listing 5 maybes for why you watch a team that has given back maybe once in 10+ years?

Occupy Wall Street may yield something good.

Watching the Browns will yield more of the same.

The Browns are terrible.

anything outside of landing Andrew Luck in the draft does not speed that up.

I've given up on them being relevant anytime soon. Just pulling for them purely out of family loyalty and tradition.

I have no faith Purdue will win a National Title in any of the sports that matter either. Same thing.

Yeah, I have a 3 yo boy.

I don't know how to NOT make him a Cleveland sports fan.

I guess I understand what e0y is saying on an intellectual level. I just honestly don't know how to make myself into "not a fan".

But I also feel like that would be the same for the Indians, Buckeyes, and Cavs.
