With all due respect to Bayou (SEC, and Bama/LSU)

What a terrible game.

And it's not because of the quality of the teams involved, LSU is to me, at this moment, clearly number 1, they'll clearly be getting the Crystal Ball at the end of the season. Their talent on defense is pretty impressive.

The game itself was pretty disappointing. It's not to say I was expecting a shootout, but a couple of TD's would have been pretty cool.

May I ask this though?

Is college football now destined to be just a one league team with an ACC/Big Ten/Big ?/Pac 10 team playing the role of cannon fodder in the BCS NCG? Is that what the BCS system will only allow us to see?

It's really anti-climatic to me, that the only Championship we get to see now is LSU smacking around Oklahoma St. But I'm sure at least Bayou will enjoy it.

There were Sunday players all over both defenses. Three or four Sunday players on Alabama's offense. Maybe one or two on LSU's.

Now, as far as the 2nd best team in the country not being able to make a god damn field goal, well, blah.

Just like I do not enjoy an Oklahoma State 52 point who cares about defense win, a 9-6 OT bore fest is no better. Be nice is two great teams with good offenses and good defenses could be the top 2 teams in the country.

Defense was fun to watch, no question. Honey Badger looks like a top 10 pick, would love to see the guy teamed up with Haden.

If it is indeed LSU/Ok. State, that's not going to be a good game. French XII ain't going to look good against an SEC team. Maybe Boise will give them a good shot, but that's not a guarantee. Fingers crossed for Stanford though. Luck may have the best shot to give them a good game.

To me it was a good game, but not a great one at all. Certainly not one I want to see "rematched" in two months.

Very few offensive playmakers on either team (Richardson excepted)...quarterback play was average at best...terrible placekicking, and bad coaching on ST in general.

Having lots of future NFL defensive players is a footnote to the game, not something that makes for compelling football.

Stanford says 'hold it right there'. And there's no way I'd miss an LSU-Stanford matchup.

That game was shitty, no matter what kind of perfumed spin you apply. Still smells and looks like shit.

The best team in the country has a QB that can make plays, neither of those two teams has anything even close to that.

I will say the thing that puts a big fat bulls-eye on my head but I'd kind of like to see Boise play one LSU. Or perhaps Stanford, I mean a good pick apart your defense type of QB and Stanford is also pretty physical.

The thing is I think LSU is still too good, but I really don't want to see Choklahoma in their again.

-- Not surprised by the halftime score, but I thought with 2 teams who have done their damage in the 3rd quarter all year that one would separate from the other after half.
-- Figured we would have a shot due to 'LSU's strong defense' + 'Brad Wing's punting' + 'Nick Saban's offensive philosophies'.
-- Not a good game by any definition, but a few bright spots. LSU's safeties (Taylor and Reid) played lights out, Richardson showed yet another bright spot in his ability to line up in the slot and haul it in (mad respect for that guy), and Brad MF'n Wing (can't say enough).

-- Don't think Bama deserves a rematch unless the bottom falls out for everyone else. They played a mediocre Penn St team to get their "OOC Credit", but then had the two biggest opponents (Ark and LSU) at home. Couldn't capitalize on a great schedule, so you gotta get to the back of the line. Bama does indeed have a great defense, but Ok St has a great offense, and Stanford has a great QB, and Oregon has hot cheerleaders, etc, etc. There can only be two.

Yeah. I'd imagine that after Stanford beats Oregon this weekend it will propel them to 3rd in the BCS. LSU, Ok St, Stanford, Alabama. Sounds about right, I'd guess.
