Why is it all I can think of when reading this is that Thome and Charlie will be back together...and the song "Reunited" is playing in the background of my mind. See what almost three days of no electric can do to you? (And those two-hour wood feedings into the fireplace to keep the house from getting too cold...good thing I was a Girl Scout leader. Hubby got to sleep for work.)

I think he wants a ring. On paper, the Phils are the best shot at that. And his relationship with Charlie...perfect move.

I must admit the first thing I thought was "But NL doesn't have a DH" I think there would have to be some coaching aspect to this as well, could help the younger Bats improve, the Phillies do need to improve there scoring if they are to win it next year, and Thome as a Pinch Hitter and Mentor might work for that.

He'll get about 100-130 chances with this role. Perfect for a 43 year-old.
