I guess the NCAA feels they've done a decent job of cleaning up the sport now that they've rid their game of that menace Jim Tressel, and brought those dastardly jersey-sellers to justice.

I feared from the beginning that the NCAA had no real interest in opening up the Pandora's Box that is SEC cheating, and this reinforces that view.

To be fair to them, you can't punish what you can't prove, and I understand that even though it was reported that they identified the "bagman" who gave the cash to Cecil Newton, they couldn't compel him to come forward and testify, or give up the names of the people who supplied it.

I agree, if the evidence isn't there, there really isn't much they can do. I though the stuff from MSU and John Bond sounded very incriminating....... but i'm not an investigator.

The only reason Auburn is getting off is because they can't afford computers in the south. No electric paper trail, no conviction.

e0's avatar reminded me of a joke someone emailed me the other day...and this is as good a place for it as any...I realize it's a bit old...

Traveling salesman knocks on the door of the house and a 10-year old kid comes to the door. He's got a lit cigarette in one hand, a glass of whiskey in the other, and a copy of Penthouse folded under his arm.

Salesman asks: "Young man, is your mommy or daddy home?

Kid responds: "Now, what the fuck do you think?

Auburn is innocent, the Big Ten has 12 teams, the Big 12 has like 7 teams, and a team from Boise, Idaho is being recruited to play in the Big East.

I've officially seen it all.

I think I'm going to go the Hiko route and start following women's tennis.

Can't believe you left Joe Bauserman off that list Swerb.

I want to like Women's tennis, but until the seeding comes at least within a mile of reflecting reality, I will struggle to enjoy watching the best matches being played in rounds 1 and 2.

Auburn is innocent, the Big Ten has 12 teams, the Big 12 has like 7 teams, a team from Boise, Idaho is being recruited to play in the Big East, and the Buckeyes started a 34 year old quarterback that blew more than a Kardashian and almost lost to Toledo.

There.
