BTW: at least according to Vest, the entire reason you run Dave is that you can set up a shit ton of plays off of that movement. Running it on first down then changing the entire formation on 2nd down every series takes a shitty play and makes it useless.

That was pre- January 1st head explosion. I honestly don't remember a lot of shit from that day to about 6 months before it.

But I did look it up and it seems to me pretty much every 'power' team in the world runs it.

This defense is bizarre. The LBs tackle well with the play in front of them, but they look completely fucking lost in pursuit. Rewatch the YAC after the short reception, watch the D, they looked like they were all waiting for the other guy to make the tackle.

No doubt, it's your basic power, but Vest and his entire Dave series was the majority of his entire offense at YSU and early OSU.

He ran that series in a way that reminds me of something that my HS football coach said: "they'll know what we're running, but we'll run it perfect"

The entire problem w/ Dave right now is that it isn't a very effective running play unless used in the series context. OSU just runs it on first down now. Every first down.

OSU plows straight ahead so much that counters and cutbacks will be there all day against every team they play until they start running plays like the last one regularly.

OSU's normal play calling is the blueprint for how to make an 8 man front seem like 12. Today they have had some misdirection/cutbacks which makes the 8 upfront seem like 7.

I have no replay, so I have only seen the play once/twice and I didn't see the action. Couldn't tell if it was counter or CB. I am sure that both will be there all day (and for the rest of the year). I would also like to see some naked bootleg passing to cut the field in half for miller.
