Speaking of this topic, I heard one of the Marlins talk today about hiring a Latino manager that will appeal to S Florida's large latino population.
Can you imagine if the White Sox said Ventura was hired in part because he'll appeal to the white people in the Chicago area?
WWIII
The White Sox have hired 17 former White Sox players as managers over the years? Is that right?

Would it be wrong to suggest that, after years of Ozzie, this is a tactical hire by Kenny Williams?!
A guy with no prior experience who you could make a case he'll be able to have more control over.

So one ex-Chicago great has been paying his dues in the at the helm of minor league squads and can't sniff a big league job, while another was announcing little league baseball a few weeks ago and gets the gig.
I'm tellin' ya, you can just about prop anyone up in the corner of a big league dugout - especially in the AL, and be fine.
Ryno....Robin...the best big league manager between the two will be the one that has the most guys that can PLAY.
Period.

Doesnt Robin Venturn have the only Grand Slam single in the history of baseball, aside from getting his ass beat by Ryan?

I'm still trying to figure out how Williams has survived the mess he created down there. Claiming Alex Rios and that awful contract alone should have cost him his job.

I'd still bet on 60+ year old Ryan in a rematch today.

Win for us. Supposedly Sandy was considered as well.

All I could think of was this:

Tried to find a Youtube because the landlord's voice is awesome, but no dice.

That video is classic. I haven't seen that much of it in a long time.
All those juicers on the field at the same time, and they're the peacekeepers.
It's Robin Ventura and a bunch of old pitchers/coaches all fired up.
I want to see a Rangers pitcher dot a White Sox player very early next year. All eyes will be on Ventura.
