Anyone planning on watching this show? You think it will be any good?

I don't watch too many shows on tv, just because it is hard for me to get into a routine of watching it every whatever night at whatever time. I am sitll living in thr 90's, so I dont have DVR...so that is out of the equation.

The only shows I have watched regularly in the last 10 years is Lost, Rescue Me, and Walking Dead....but I definitley am going to tune in to Terra Nova.

I'm guessing that this will end up the most expensive pile of shit ever put on TV.

PoS has been hyped for like two years now and still looks like it is going to blow monkey balls.

I'd rather watch paint dry than support something as terrible as this.

It's got two things going for it: Fox and Stephen Spielberg. Fox has a history of experimenting with fairly good sci-fi ("The X-Files" and "Fringe," to name two). Spielberg is Spielberg. Also, Stephen Lang from "Avatar" isn't a bad sci-fi type actor.

Suggest you tune in to "Falling Skies" this coming Sunday night at 9 p.m. on TNT -- it's the two-hour season finale, it's a Spielberg production, and it's sci-fi. If you like it, you might like "Terra Nova."

However, "Terra Nova" looks like a continuing story, much like other sci-fi titles that got pulled by the networks before they had a chance to develop a following ("V," "Earth 2," "Threshold" and many others). So if the ratings aren't there, you should be prepared to have the rug pulled out from under your feet.

I'm going to give it a try and watch the ratings for the first couple of weeks. If the Nielsens aren't up to snuff, I'm not getting invested in it, because it won't be long for this world.

I was watching Falling Skies, but I just lost interest. The characters aren't developing and the plot doesn't really seem to go any where. The aliens look cool though and I liked seeing Steven Webber get choked to death.

Yeah...I bailed on it. Didn't watch it yesterday...read the recap on EW, and it looks like I didn't miss much. This was after trying to watch the lame episode last week, and fast forwarding through most of it.

Good promise...crappy delivery. Kind of like Heroes, but at least that show had one pretty decent season before it went to shit in Season Two.

The Falling Skies episodes have been piling up on my DVR. Good to know that I can delete them without remorse and focus on getting into Mad Men (now streaming on Netflix!)

The problem is they took a cool premise and they just didn't execute it well. The side characters aren't that interesting, the crazy uber Catholic girl is annoying as hell, Moon Bloodgood isn't that hot. The only guy that was funny is Pope. The aliens look cool, but i'm not sure what their purpose is, other than to kidnap children and make them wear stupid bug things on their backs.

Really not much on TV right now. But September 25th will rock, Boardwalk Empire season 2, mother fuckers.

I forgot it was on, but caught it about 1.5 hours into it flipping through channels. It didnt look that bad.

Basically Jurassic Park meets Lost. The casting sucked really bad outside of Lang and a couple of others.

I thought mother was stupid regardless of whether he thought you'd watch that show.

If he gives me another 'Awkward Glances' soon I will reconsider. Til then I hate that guy with a passion.

OK, here's my review:

Started watching in online. It was meh enough that I walked off to piss without pausing it. Came back, my wife was watching it. "What the hell is this?" she asked.

"Why? Does it suck?" I replied.

"It's terrible," she said.

I watched about 2 more minutes, then said to myself "As if travelling back in time to the age of dinosaurs weren't conflict enough, we have to have all these good guy/bad guy confrontations?"

I didn't see the pilot (taped it last night, doubt I'll ever actually watch it) but I did hear that there is some kind of work-around concerning the butterfly effect. So it's all good. The science works.
