Opening Weekend - College Football

Unread postby swerb » Thu Sep 01, 2011 4:32 pm

Buckeyes at noon.

So Florida/Notre Dame and BYU/Ole Miss after that.

8 PM - Oregon/LSU on ABC and Boise State/Georgia on ESPN.

College football is back baby. Cannot freaking wait to suck down some high quality craft beer and channel surf Saturday night.

I heard that, brother. Miss State and Memphis tonight -- going to be a blowout and I still can't wait to see it. Just any college ball, I'm jacked up.

I'm going to be able to roll through Baton Rouge and rob banks on Saturday, they're saying an upwards to 50K LSU fans in Jerryworld. I'm ready to cook, grab a brew and settle in. Also looks like it will rain all weekend here, so you can throw that honey-do list in the trash.

Liking LSU this week even with the suspensions tmw night. I like GA too. Should be a good night for the SEC.

I like the Bucks to win, don't know about the 33ish point spread though, not sure about the cover. Akron is fucking terrible though and the OSU D should be able to hold them to single digits.

Baylor getting in TCU's ass right now. Robert Griffin looks awesome, just shredding Gary Patterson's D. It's going to be fun to see if/how TCU can adapt at half.

Impressive debut for Michigan St.

Youngstown St. has more first downs with 4:20 left in the 3rd quarter.

Yards are just 261-193 MSU.

I really thought that Griffin would fold judging by his body language on the bench in the 4th. Big win for Baylor, bigger loss for TCU.

Don't forget Rice at Texas, which can be seen nationally by the dozens who actually get the Longhorn Network.

Truth. We did our honeymoon in New Orleans in 1990. A couple days, I ventured to a local bar for some carry out beans and rice. Both times, the place was packed- and silent, with undivided attention on the TVs. On one day, they were focused on Ken Burns' The Civil War. On the other day, it was LSU-Auburn football.

Utah State is up over Auburn in the fourth quarter (ESPN 2)

Don't they know they are supposed to lose in return for cashing that big check?

Not sure about the new Maryland unis. I like the Terrapin shell helmets, but the ones they pimpin' right now are causing seizures.

I'm a big Al Golden fan as well.

Is it possible Miami's reserves are this bad? Maryland is marching up and down the field with ease. Some soft-assed corners in Coral Gables.

We'll see what happens to the high flying O if the monsoons come after the half.
