My plan is not to win the division. That's a dream, not a plan. Yeah, as soon as they're out of it Manny will be trotting out a different lineup every game. But until all hope is extinguished, they need to stick with Hanny, Donald, and Marson and minimize Chiz, Phelps, and LaPorta.
Astrubal needs a day off. He's something like 0-for-16 and looks dead out there. With no off days and a couple of doubleheaders coming up, Manny needs to find him a day off somewhere, even if it means a Donald/Phelps middle infield. It's a shame Kipnis went down.
Cabrera was off this past Wednesday and Thursday to give him that break. LaPorta can step into traffic AFAIC, Donald needs to play.
Agreed. But giving ABs to Hannahan over Chisenhall defeats entirely the purpose of Chisenhall being there. If you wanna play it that way send the kid back for AAA playoffs.

Really nice game for Jimenez...praying for some consistency for him to end the year.

My bad, Astrubal did get two days off. Maybe his 0-for-4 with two strikeout performance was due to Paulino, who pitched extremely well. However, I believe he is wearing down. His BA's by month:
April .262
May .330
June .297
July .266
Aug .250 (which includes 1-for his last -17).
Nothing to do for it now, though. He has to play.

A number of us have said the same thing about Asdrubal. He's hit a mighty wall and could have used someone stepping up to help in after June.
