I might stick him on the practice squad and go get another QB with more command of the offense. Somebody like a Kitna that could knock Wallace to third string. I'm more concerned about our 2nd string QB at this point since I don't think Colt will play 16 games injury free this year. He still seems brittle to me.

I agree. Not a fan of nothing behind Wallace without either WCO experience or a solid pedigree.

Also not sure if Brown is bright or Derek Anderson-dumb and I wonder what his ceiling actually is.

Like what I saw from the D-line as far as pressure in the first half. Been awhile since we had guys consistently in the backfield.

Get used to calls like the "roughing" call on Jackson. Anything that looks questionable the refs are going to throw the rag and call it rather than have to hear from Goodell and his quest for total player safety. Jack Lambert called it nearly 30 years ago when he said QB's might as well start wearing skirts, we aren't that far off.

I haven't seen a recap of Casey Matthews performance yet.

I think your last point bears watching. May be why you saw deep throws to Robo and Hillis and a couple others. But I also still would argue that playing your twin who is physically more talented and knows what you're going to do ceates issues in the WCO. The Eagles see those sets in similar down and distance every day and they execute better.

I'm not as down about the score as I am so much about the run defense and the fact we saw this offense is still in its infancy.

Yeah, I'm not high on the WCO either. I thought Colt was at his best last year when he was able to go through his progressions. He forced a lot of balls last night and it's not just because the Eagles knew what was coming. It's because he's panicky locking on to his designated WR.

If we had WR capable of producing separation, it might be more successful, but I think Colt needs the time to survey the field.

Just watched the first half. It was better than I thought. The Iggles got one TD on a fluke punt recovery which isn't going to happen again in 100 years. Amazing that after Norwood got tripped the punt landed right on him. That cost the Browns 7 pts.

Then the botched roughing call on Jackson negated an interception and a return into Iggles territory, giving them a first down in Browns territory instead, leading to another undeserved TD.

The pass rush and coverage was good, the run defense sucked, especially the left side. Sheard was moved out of there way too easily, although he was going against a Pro Bowl left tackle.

A lot of young players are flashing ability; Taylor, Little, and Hardesty come immediately to mind. Last year's draft class looks to be extremely strong with four entrenched starters; Haden, Ward, McCoy, and Lauvao. If Hardesty can stay healthy he'll be a significant contributor. DQ is back in top form, and I never expected to see him in a Browns uniform again. Evan Moore is emerging as an offensive threat.

We don't have enough depth to contend this year but it looks like Heckert knows what he's doing when it comes to the draft based on what I've seen so far. That's a real break from the recent past.

I was thinking the same. The NFC North is going to have a hell of a time with that Dline in the next several years. They dont even have Fairley yet.
