Ok so I wanted to kick this off a little earlier this year in hopes we can get a much bigger field like in 2009.... Below are my rules from last season, I want to open it up for comments and requests for changes going into my second year managing the league. I'm sure some stuff worked, other stuff didn't, so this thread is both for people to say "I'm in" and for comments on changes....

Swerb if you could pin this up in a couple places that would be helpful.

Welcome to the Official TCF Fantasy Football League 2011
We will use ESPN to host the league (which is free) to maximize the payouts:
The draft will most likely occur between Aug 30th and Sept 5th, pending board vote.

If you wish to play in this league, please respond to this thread AND send the following information via PM to me by (August 28th) Please be aware that this all needs to come together rather quickly,

Payments must be received before the Draft (sorry for the last minute setup) and we can accept and checks or money orders

Buy-in

$100 Buy in + $25 for unlimited transactions (required), so it is $125 total for each team.

Payments must be in before the draft

Payouts

Division champs will pay out $100
Playoff teams will pay out $50
1st-4th will pay out by remaining pot %'s below

1st 50%
2nd 30%
3rd 12.5%
4th 7.5%

Payouts shall be processed and mailed out no later than Jan. 7th, 2011

Schedule Setup:

Ok, so I want to explain how this will work. It depends on the number of teams we have, but two years ago we had two 12 team Conferences, each was split into 2 divisions.

In that scenario:
The regular season stops after week 12. Winner of each division will get a bye for week 13, the 4 wildcards face off week 13, each Conference will have its champion by week 15, at which point a manually scored "Superbowl" and consolation final (3rd vs 4th) will take place for TCF 2011 League Champion during week 16.

Last year due to short notice, we only had 10 teams, with 2 divisions. We will adjust as necessary when we see the total players. I’d like to avoid having more than 12 in one player pool, so hopefully we have 10-12, or 20-24.

This league has a heavy emphasis placed on divisional play. Here is how the regular season schedule would be set up in a 12 team league:

2 Divisions - You will play each team in your division twice and play 2 games against the other division.

Division record will determine division champion, with the following as the tie break order:

1. Division Record
2. Overall Record
3. H2H record
4. Total Points scored for the season

So be aware, there is a scenario in which a 10-2 team could win the division over an 11-1 team, but there is no scenario in which a 9-3 team could win a division over an 11-1 team.

The league is fairly standard in terms of scoring, with one significant twist: In the playoffs, home teams will get a three point advantage - the reasoning here is that the best regular season teams get a slight advantage just as in the NFL.

This is how the playoffs will be seeded:

Each division will get 2 wild cards, no division will get more wild cards than another:

After playoff teams are decided, all conference playoffs teams will be seeded together using slightly different tie breakers:

1. Division winner
2. Overall record
3. H2H Record
4. Total Points scored for season

Div winners will get the byes regardless of overall record

Example standings end of year using the above tie breaks:

2. Team 2 - 11-1 (9-1)*
3. Team 3 - 10-2 (8-2)*
4. Team 4 - 4-8 (2-8)
5. Team 5 - 2-10 (1-9)
6. Team 6 - 1-11 (0-10)

Div 2
1. Team 7 - 8-4 (8-2)*
2. Team 8 - 8-4 (7-3)*
3. Team 9 - 7-5 (6-4)*
4. Team 10 - 4-8 (4-6)
5. Team 11 - 3-9 (3-7)
6. Team 12 - 2-10 (2-8)

Playoff seeding would would be as follows in this scenario:

1)Team 1 - 10-2 (10-0)*
2)Team 7 - 8-4 (8-2)*
3)Team 2 - 11-1 (9-1)*
4)Team 3 - 10-2 (8-2)
5)Team 8 - 8-4 (7-3)
6)Team 9 - 7-5 (6-4)

Rd 1
#6 at #3(+3) - #6 wins
#5 at #4(+3) - #4 wins

Rd 2 (reseed if necessary, top seed will face bottom seed)
#6 at #1(+3) - #1 wins
#4 at #2(+3) - #4 wins

Rd 3
#4 at #1(+3) - #4 wins the Conference advances to League Championship, #1 "advances" to Consolation Final

**There will be no Home/Away teams for the League Championship or Final Consolation game**

I just updated the rules and scoring for this season, there are only a few minor changes:

1. Being that I expect the league to be at least 12 teams, I lowered the max QB's from 4 to 3.
2. I Changed one of the WR slots to WR/TE to allow for some additional flexibility with more teams
3. Changed the waiver days from 2 to 1
4. Changed the veto votes needed to nix a trade from 6 to 7, to keep it a majority vote
5. And the biggest change is that I changed the scoring for a yardage-based points to an every-yard-counts scoring. These are all the same ratios

Passing is still 1 for 25yds (.04/1yd)
Rush/Rec is still 1 for 10yds (.1/yd)

Its just that you actually get something for every yard now, I never liked it the other way. For those that have sent emails, I will send invites soon.

Right now we are at 11....after 12, people can still reserve a spot and in the case we get to 20 people by the 21st of August, then I will open a second conference and we will split into two 10 team conferences.

The next spot will be in for sure (#12), then 13th-19th will be tenative until we get #20.

Ok, I'll send this out through the site as well, but we need to set the Draft day and time.

We are also looking for 1 more member, and make sure you get squared up before the draft- I have payment from 3 people so far.

I was thinking Sunday, August 28th, at 7pm. I want to fill that last spot and hopefully draw draft order by Sunday the 21st, last year people preferred to know ahead of time, so that's how I was going to proceed this season as well.

I was going to take ace through queen, shuffle and pull cards in the order the league is set up as to draw draft slots.

I'm on the ESPN draft page and its saying the draft hasn't been scheduled yet; we still doing it tonight at 7:00 PM (20 minutes or so)?

OK I see the draft is scheduled now; same time but for tomorrow. Guessing he couldn't schedule it for 6 minutes from now and it would have been hard to get everyone in and ready in 6 minutes. Not a problem for me though it might be for others.
