They'd have to keep 4 backs. Might be able to do that if they use Hillis as a backup FB.

The drops didn't help him any.

I like the way he steps up confidently in the pocket when he has time to throw.

Great throw to Little on the out route and the two Moore TDs were very nice, especially the first one. Really nice to see competent offense inside the 5.

We'll see how he does in next week's dress rehearsal with a pretty good secondary.

I watched for a few minutes. I was shocked at all the guys we had not playing in the first quarter. Especially on defense.

Even many who were dressed, on the field and lined up at positions didn't play much.

Defense makes my hair hurt. Armond Smith is a blur. Unfortunately he's a blur with the inability to hold the football. On the bright side, he has a very good change of direction/first step when stopping and turning around to try and dive on his fumbles.

At least I saw some type of DL stunts....finally.

I know they are going to wait until the Bengals game to display the blitz packages especially with a rookie starting at QB for the Bengals but they need to send some LBs up the middle or do some outside twists because it will be a long season if they are expecting Taylor and Rubin to collapse the pocket on a regular basis.

I knew Smith had the jets but I wasn't aware of his uncontrollable cough.

I'm more concerned about the defense at this point, especially the linebacking. Nothing but rookie UDFA's and guys like Maiava and Titus Brown backing up injury prone starters.

They kept Suh from mauling McCoy and the 1st team offense moved the ball. I call that success for this game.

Our backup LBs are still on a different roster.

No Calvin Johnson is always the glass-half-empty argument, but, as you say, the Defense missing Fujita, Gocong, TJ Ward, and that Usama guy evens that out.

The depth is indeed woeful at several positions. But I like Titus a lot. He might well be starting soon (for play as much as injury).

I was at the game, and was sitting nead the Dawg Pound

I didn't feel good about the way the defense looked minus one TJ Ward.

Saw Haden got beat a few times by Burelson, which made me feel uneasy.

McCoy didn't look as good as he did in the game previous, but I loved some of the throws he made. He was able to place them in a position where only the receiver could catch them.

Rightside looks a hell of a lot better. No more John St. Clair!

Anyone else think the ground game needs some work? Lawrence Vickers, where art thou?

Without a question, IF McCoy shows what he has been showing these past 2 games this next draft needs to be focused solely on getting a few LB's. And no more of Kamerion Wimbley/Nyqwell Jackson shit (and yes, I think the latter is a solid pro, but that's beside the point.). Get me a guy who's vicious and can be the face of the defense. Our own Clay II, Ray-Ray, Urlacher etc.

Also, whomever was the asshole that decided that the best time to work on East 9th and 1-76 was during a football game pretty much trapping me and friend in downtown Cleveland trying to find a way out really needs to be fired.

Really like what I've seen from D'well. Titus and Maiava are decent back-ups but we need to see Gocong and Fujita this week.

Haden did not play well. Secondary looked thin, to say the least.

Have to start putting our full defense out there. This is absurd.

Offense looked alright. Didn't see any opportunity in the running game when it actually mattered. Colt looked comfortable though. TE's continue to seem like they may be a nice strength for us. We'll see.

I think Jackson's only there for 3rd down passing situations to keep guys off Colt. I can't imagine they expect a lot of production from him.

Meant to mention: I am solely and fully responsible for the Browns winning the 1st half of that preseason game, 28-10 or something like that.

SHifting gears- the Lions beat the Bengals something like 35-3 the week before. I saw the Bengal/Jet game last nite. It was played in a downpour, but man, Cincinnati (Browns' first opponent) has the horrible look of an expansion team. I want to see Marvin Lewis's sideline pout before halftime in Game 1.

The play of the night was worth me watching the DVRed game (well, first half). Colt's pass to Evan Moore was a quality, perfect NFL throw. If he can continue to do that, we may have found a QB.
