No way that pitch is a strike.

Ump must be wanting to get to the pub for last orders based on the pitch he rang up Hafner on.

Pronk is definitely back to sucking, wouldn't y'all say? He was big time in May and June. He's been awful since the baltimore series.

Have the strike zones been a plate and a half wide in all three games?

Home plate has been that bad. The base guys have been pretty good.

And I agree with your second line.

I cannot agree with that simply b/c the focal point of their officiating, home plate, is a virtual opinion, almost all subjective. Balls and strikes impact the game too much to be so vague to often.

God I love Justin Masterson!

And Hirshbeck is calling it both ways guys. Yes, Hafner's pitch sucked but that's just John and his extra 3-4 inches he gives on both sides.

IF we do get in the playoffs, not a doubt in my mind I want 1. Masterson 2. Jimenez 3. Tomlin 4. Carmona. Who gets left out of rotation by September? Carrasco or Huff? Give me HUFF damn it!!!

This team is getting so much better. When Mitch Talbot was our starter and Carmona was on DL/sucked...we were playing like a last place team. And surprisingly we are better without Sizemore. He doesn't mesh well with this lineup, in my honest opinion.

WTF are you blathering about?

All officiating is subjective.... EVERY sport has blown calls, the NFL and NBA are horrendous. Ticky tack pass interference and slight touches on guys driving to the lane in the NBA.

Beckham must have really impressed in the breif...very brief time that he spent in teh minors because three years ago he was playing for the Georgia BullDogs. I watched him in '08 and '09 and he was a .400/25/90 guy at 2b and in college, that just doesn't happen. Todd Walker was a .400/20/85 guy and that was unheard of. I am not surprised Beckham is up now...just shocked that he's played 2.5 big league seasons. Not to contradict my point, but he's not nearly the best collegiate hitter I have seen. Mark Kotsay is still the best college player I have seen with Pat Burrell being 2nd, Lance Berkman 3rd, and Brandon Larson 4th and none of them were in the bigs a year after they got their freakin diploma.

Carrera's spot.

I won't even think playoff rotation yet but I'll say this. I'm not sure Boston with how we've played them or the Yanks with our pitching vs. theirs is too in love with the thought of playing us.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle

Of course, but in baseball ABs, innings and games can end on simple balls and strikes being called with incompetence. If you get a holding call or PI, you get a redo, with a punishment of course, but a redo none the less, and it is extremely rare for a football penalty to be the terminating play of game.

Don't equate my disagreement as an endorsement of all other sports as picture perfect officiating.

Hannahan makes it look so easy. That was a ridiculously tough play. Short hop pick, spin on the ball, and then to throw out Pierre.

I said it a month ago. If we get into the playoffs, nobody is going to want to play us. Were young, talented and full of confidence. With the addition of Ubaldo(even looking like shit thus far) our rotation is the best in the AL in my opinion. Especially if we get good Carmona. Its downright dominating.

You can tell me to "go fuck myself", i'm not sensitive.

And you're post makes no sense BTW. I assume you're advocating Robo-Umps. Bad calls happen, MLB just has way less of them than the other sports, because MLB umpires are solid. NBA refs are hot trash with a whistle.

Amazingly, Raffy Perez hasn't walked a batter in his last 17 appearances!

Also, has only allowed a walk in 2 of his last 32 appearances (3BB in 29.1IP)

Very un-Raffy like.

CDT, my post makes perfect sense. 3rd and & 20 with 1:30 left in 4Q, you get called for phantom holding it is 3rd and 30. Bottom of the 9th, you're losing with a 1-2 count and a ball is called a strike...it's good afternoon, good evening and good night, game over. The impact of a incorrectly called balls & strikes on the game of baseball is greater than the impact of most incorrectly called penalties in football on said football game. Robo Umps are not the ultimate answer, I'm just suggesting you're over compensating for MLB umps.

Bottom of the 9th, you're losing with a 1-2 count and a ball is called a strike...it's good afternoon, good evening and good night, game over. The impact of a incorrectly called balls & strikes on the game of baseball is greater than the impact of most penalties called in football on said football game. Robo Umps are not the ultimate answer, I'm just suggesting you're over compensating for MLB umps.

Now THAT'S a rebuttal.
