I still think Derrick Lee would be a nice one year guy next season. At least we could count on good defense and a guy capable of making contact.

I have wondered that myself.

Their radio crew is much better (if Ed Farmer and Chris Singleton are still doing it - those two are actually one of the better crews I have listened to.)

If I passed Hawk on the side of the road dying of thirst, I wouldnt piss on the pavement for him to drink it.

White Sox broad cast trivia question:

Who was the last Indian to steal 40+ bases on a season?

I am guessing Lofton?

One of the guys I know who is a White sox said No because hes super annoying but also yes because hes been to listening to him for 18 years and hes like a senile granpa.

And another one said he likes him. He also said hes the best announcer and hes not annoying...

Nice pick my Hannahan. He might pick them better than any Tribe 3B I can remember. Reminds me a a 3B version of David Segui.

Masterson's quite erratic today.

In other news, the sun will rise tomorrow and Paul Konerko owns us.

Konerko's 35. If he gets to 500 HR (393 now), he'll wind up with 2300+ hits (6 away from 2000), maybe even 2500, 450-500 2B, and 500 HR. I wonder what kind of HoF consideration he might get.

Outside of owning us, allowed some of his salary to be deferred, has been loyal to the White Sox, a team in a big market. Just curious.

The worst Hawk call is when an opposing hitter hits a huge home run and he just lets the air go dead for 15 seconds. As if him not saying it's a home run will alter reality and make it not so.

It'd be one thing if he were in Milwaukee or Arizona...but he's an announcer in Chicago...where they could have any announcer in the country they wanted to hire.

Even my fiance who just started watching baseball when she met me comments on Hawk.

Her quote almost verbatim-

" Of all the games you watch, this guy is very annoying, and is horrible"

Coming from someone who never watched a baseball game in her life until 3 years ago.

Speaking of Hall of Famers, I dont know if I have ever seen a hitter take such bad swings at LaPorta.

Everytime I want to take LaPorta out to pasture he does something like that.

He is the oddest player I believe I have ever seen.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. Guy's a very good mistake hitter. He just can't hit an average to above average pitch.

How awful does Zach Stewart feel? He gave up a bomb to Matt LaPorta and a hit to Jack Hannahan. That's hard to do.

Probably not as bad as the guy (can't remember who), that gave up a HR to Pierre.

Listen I HATE Matt LaPorta. I nearly detest his very existence. That said, the guy is going to get all kinds of rope with us because A) he's right-handed B) he's a young "potential" power hitter.

Teams historically will give these guys more rope because power hitters can be late bloomers.

Mind you, I do not believe Matt LaPorta is anything more than a AAAA player and never will be more. Mainly because I think he might be one of the stupidest baseball players I've ever seen when it comes to his approach offensively and defensively.

But hell, I'll take what he can give us any night.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle

I hate putting anything on mute. I wish I still lived in Ohio so I could watch the STO broadcast. Annoying as I get STO through Dish, but they black out the Tribe games.

The best plan of action for out of staters with a DVR is to turn down the sound and buy the MLB audio package for $15. The TV is usually ahead of the audio, but you can pause it to sync them.

Hawk: "2 to 1, bad guys"

He acts like the White Sox are playing North Korea or the Taliban.

If he wasn't traded for CC he would be in Columbus IMO.
