Seriously is this not the most unusual 33 game hitting streak ever? Dude is hitting .230's after 33 straight games of hits, started in the .180s or .190s?
33 games is not even close enough to get excited about in regards to possible historical significance, but it is a nice streak to have none the less. But don't you usually expect to see a .300 avg behind the guys name after a streak like this?
Of course I'm pretty sure this recognition of it will jinx it and end it all tomorrow.
Just sayin.

Dan Uggla was a top player not long ago. Give the guy a little credit.

Decent player yes, as a career .260 guy with never hitting over .290 and a perennial 28 HR guy I/m not so sure about him ever being a top player. Just seems like an unsuspecting player with unusual numbers to be in the middle of a streak like this.

There's a lot of cats that aren't that great that hit in 30 straight. Hell, didn't Willy Tavares do it a few years back? Also, off the top of my head, Jerome Walton, and guys like Bennie Santiago, who you would think have some of the same issues as Uggla.
And, was listening to him being interviewed on LeBatard a few months into the season, and he was saying that he really wasn't going ape-shit or pressing yet, cause he felt he was hitting the ball pretty well - just couldn't catch a break. So, while .260 career ain't great shakes, if the the guy was hitting the ball like a .260 hitter, and was hangin' at .170 awhile, it's not suprising that things are evening out a bit.
A suprise? Anytime someone goes 30 plus, but I don't really think it's that crazy.

Hes a good players so this isnt to surprising to me. With his HORRID start he was due for a prolonged hot streak, and clearly hes in the midst of it right now. Good for him. Have always liked Uggla.
