I would rather spend 3 weeks in Guantanamo Bay, followed by a week in Mogadishu than spend one night in that shit hole Fenway.

Because the indians are up?
Or, wait: are they discussing Derek Jeter? He hit a home run for his 3000th hit, in case you did not know that.
ESPN and my Guide on Time Warner says this game should be on .
If the game is also on STO, it's always blacked out on ESPN in STO's viewing area.
I'm from upstate NY though so I'm not sure why its not on.
You might be too close to NESN's viewing area then.

No way Fausto would go in that series. After Tomlin it would go back to Ubaldo. With the schedule there is no need to go to a 4 man rotation.

That may or may not be true. It really depends on how the schedule is set up and whether there are sufficient off days to give each pitcher his accustomed 4 days rest.
Recall in the 2007 division series against the Yankees, in fact the Indians used four starters (CC, Fausto, Jake, and Byrd).

yes but that was when they had 4 competent starters. I am assuming they will do everything they can not to have to put Fausto in yankee stadium or Fenway or even use a 4 man rotation if they can help it. I would also imagine that they will try to throw Ubaldo and Masterson as many times as they can.
That is what I was referencing when I replie dto his comment.

TribeinLA wrote:Strongly disagree, Scarmbler on your Tomlin vs. Fausto standpoint. Tomlin is the ballsiest pitcher we have. He is gold at Progressive and would be the PERFECT game three starter because I bet we'd be looking at a 1-1 at best scenario going into game 3. You want the ball in Carmona's hands then? Carmona sucks in cold weather...will throw 90 pitches by the 6th inning and will have to become similar to his '07 form to even be considered ahead of Tomlin. Tomlin will throw strikes and keep his defense off the field as much as possible. Pretty much the exact opposite of Carmona. Even when Carmona is on his A game, he's going to throw more pitches than Tomlin. He has to. Now a game 4 down 2-1 or up 2-1, I think Carmona is probably our man unless we turnover and hand it back to Ubaldo or Bat.
IF this scenario occurs in October, you cannot put our winningest pitcher at the optional back end of the rotation ala a Ken Hill. He needs to have the ball in his hands when the series goes back to Cleveland. You'd feel more comfortable with Carmona than Tomlin there?

You need 4 starters in post season. I still have nightmares about going with that 3 man rotation in 1999 and pitching Colon and Nagy on 3 days rest with a 2-0 lead against BOSOX!!! (although I think the post where one of the series you can go with 3 is correct. I never want to see 3 days rest ever again.)
