KC 10 - Tribe 0. Which team is in a pennant race? KC pitcher working off 5 straight losses...now looks like Cy Young against our intimidating line up.

Fukume wants to re-invoke his no-trade clause.

Fukudome sucks like the rest of the team...not apologizing for comment either...he brings nothing to this team but a last name that can be used to voice what I think of the Indians' management/owners...

Might as well let the fans who stuck around for Rock N Blast see a position player pitch the 9th.

I think its time to call Watt out of retirement as a thread starter for a push towards the post season. Remember the streak Watt led us on during the latter half of the 2007 campaign? Dude was virtually unstoppable as a thread starter.

No deadline deals will help this team. Our problem-solving isn't elsewhere, it's right in that dugout.

When Asdrubal and Brantley don't hit, this team completely struggles. They have been carrying this offense from day one. Hafner has helped when he has been healthy.

But let me list for you the guys that have killed this team since April:
Choo, Sizemore, Santana, LaPorta.

All these guys are capable of being solid to very good at the plate, but did not get the job done this year. I will give Choo a pass because he was simply slumping for the first three months and started to come out of it in June before being drilled. I am done with Sizemore. He has proven to be a china doll -- wait, an overrated china doll. Don't get me started on Santana and LaPorta. Santana's at-bats are just disgusting: swinging for the fence every time, taking too many strikes, trying to pull EVERYTHING. LaPorta has no freaking clue how to adjust at the plate. Absolutely refuses to stay on the ball over the outer half of the plate.

But what burns my ass the most is how this organization decided to cut ties with Nunnally at the worst time possible. To make it worse, Fields has shown nothing to give us faith that the Indians are changing their approach at the plate -- if anything it has become worse.

Trading for Hunter Pence et al. wouldn't do sh*t for this team other than we would see Hunter Pence hit. Meanwhile, everybody else, save AsCab & Brantley, would still be a clusterf*** at the plate.

(Disclaimer: I do not put any blame at the feet of any of our call-ups. If we are depending on them to be the saviors of this offense then we shouldn't be surprised at the current results)

I agree this team has overachieved with the pitching despite the recent starters' struggles, but it has been a complete train wreck on the offensive side of things.

More of the reason to have kept Andy Marte around. Sucky game to watch Rock N Blast after, not for the Royal fans tho...

Santana moves around like he's 44 yrs old. He also appears to have the attitude/swagger of a young Manny Ramirez without the talent/performance to back it up.

So they had.

I hope KC blew all of their runs for the weekend tonight. Sure would be nice to shut them out the next two and then we could win them....if WE can score any runs in those games...

Good to see Santana run faster back to the dugout than on his ground ball.

Looks to me like you can stick a fork in this team..they're finished. My pre-season prediction was that they would finish 74-88. That is loooking pretty good right now. Simply not enough hitting, and none on the horizon.

I see no reason to go out and buy. If anything, we need to sell.

No reason.....we are only 2 games out behind a team who has almost as many holes as we do, and we are ahead of one team who's offense is as bad as ours is and whos pitching is inferior, and a team who's GM seems willing to blow up his team at a moments notice.

Plus we have nothing to sell. I have heard nothing of teams hoping Cleveland falls out of the race so they can get some of our players outside of maybe Joe Smith or Raffy Perez which would bring much at all in a market flooded with relievers.

Bigfist, we have NOTHING to sell. We'd be like a Blockbuster video store trying to sell dvd rentals up against Netflix and Redbox. And Why would we be sellers when we're in the hunt. We might finish 2 games below .500 and still WIN this damn shitty division. The, anything can happen. Let's just get to October.

Unless you want to sell Masterson and Brantley and the like, we are buyers. The system is balanced. There's room for us to buy. If we were in any other division I would agree with you.

Meanwhile, this team has gone from ultra likeable to not so much and I am speaking of personalities. Carrasco is a puss; Santana is a cocky cocktit; La Porta probably socializes the way he plays; Uncle Cabs sucks so badly that he needs to stop being the leader; Brantley loafs here and there; Hannahan might as well be a mime; Carmona is Carmona; Kearns looks like he is playing a joke on everyone; Chisenall looks like Jeremy Sowers in disguise playing 3b much like Casey Blake looked like Charles Nagy. I want some new faces. I'm damn sick of some of these guys...especially LaPorta and Santana's cocky ass. We have gone from the team you want to script a movie for to a bunch of schumcks...not everyone, but yanno.

And I agree about Nunnelly. Fields hasn't fixed shit. BAD move by Shapiro. The management owes it to the fans to fix this wreck. We're gonna finish 10 games back of a porous Detroit team if we stay with this look. Fukudome better not be our only move. :gah: :pb: :thud:

Ahhhh the Nunnally/Fields posts are flowin' in.

You could set your watch.

The guy who could make some of these guys better players is dead. His appendix burst on Halloween.

Some guy leaning on a bat near the batting cage that yells "attaboys" even though nobody is listening to anything he has to say....that guy ain't makin' a bit of difference. Not sure how many years it takes to understand this.

^ If they had only kept Shelton, we'd be having none of these discussions
::doh::

It's always the fault of coaching and the ability to bypass the lack of actual big league talent doing the "hitting".

Does anyone have a clue or care as to who the hitting coach(s) were back in '94-01? Of course not 'cause all those guys could rake in their pajamas.

He has nothing to work with. He has 3 quality bats in his lineup and 1 that just doesnt listen, Thats it. LaPorta is frustrating, all fields can do is give him an approach, its up to LaPorta to execute it. Marson cant hit, Kearns and O-cab are too old to expect anything out of them, the rest are all rookies who we cant really expect all that much from right now. Not even Jesus could get these guys to hit. outside of the 1st 4 in the order

Eh, I had no problem with canning the batting coach. If they hadn't he'd be a lightning rod right now anyway, from the same people saying it was a bad move.

It wasn't necessarily assigning blame to Nunnaly- they felt they needed a different voice and that made sense to me, I guess.

This is important to remember, and I'm sure Antonetti does. They are improved from last year, but not good. Everyone should be able to understand this. But we've seen flashes of mostly-goodness from just about everyone. Consistency is the next step.

I was as skeptical as anyone about the projected success of this team. Still am. But they've made enough progress at this point to make them worth watching (listening to in my case).

That being said, I shut this game off around run 9.

Get 'em today.

Quick and easy fix for you TribeinLA - start rooting for the Red Sux or skankees. Heck, you're on the west coast. You have ALL kinds of teams you can switch over to. ;-) ;)

You must have come into this season with Tribe-tinted glasses AND a spare pair in the breast pocket. If you check this thread here most posters on The Board who ventured a prediction (I didn't because I don't know enough details about players to venture a guess and any prediction made with the heart will be wrong) did NOT pick this team to go above .500. If you feel we are owed a champion this year it really will be better on your heart and blood pressure and nerves to go find a team that, well, wins! We'll miss you, but bu-bye!Image

Am I Here Again is a sweet lady.

I'm not at all a sweet lady TribeinLA.
Quit bitching and whining and quit making July "Throw Shit at a Wall and Hope for a Trade" month.

No one wants to hear the former or the latter. Especially when ESPN has the second part covered professionally.

You're grating on people dude. My Inbox says so.

Thanks
