Not the lineup I expected at all.

I mean don't get me wrong, Kearns Hannahan and Marson are some mashers, but don't you want to have a high OBP guy in a part of the order where he might actually score?

Is Fukudome in Choo's spot in the order? He is basically there right now to fill in for Choo so it would make sense if he is in Choo's spot.

Has to be the fact that Francis is a lefty. Want a count working guy at the bottom of the order.

Against RHP, I'd like to see Acta go Fukudome-Brantley-Cabrera-Hafner-Santana-Chisenhall-LaPorta-Kipnis-Carrera.

Matchup heaven in the late innings, but you take your chances off the starter.

Kipnis yes......Chisenhall no. They have nobody in their system ready to play. dealing Kipnis makes sense, Chisenhall not so much.

No, I just think it's because they're facing a LHP who is limiting lefties to a .575 OPS this year.

Not saying I agree with it, just saying that is probably what Acta is thinking.

Fuky, please please have a 4-4 night to make up for that horrendous bottom of the order. And no worries, Uncle Cabrera hitting in front of you = protection like a disposable razor.

I know that we're going to make a couple of more moves (I predict Ludwick and Guthrie), but seeing Kearns in the lineup just really irks me. He's a righty and we have too many lefties so Buck had to go, but Kearns is a pesky gnat. He gets better treatment than Sloth and Buck and has done less than both. I get it from the business and club options end of things, but hurry up Ludwick and get here so we can send Kearns packing.

As far as the game tonight...need a win and a series sweep. UPcoming schedule is murderer's row. Royals played well @ Boston, but now's not the time to let the cellar dwellers narrow the Indians' head-to-head victory gap from 7 to 2 to 8 to 4 or worse, 7:5. Hopefully, our Choo stand-in delivers. Like the Edwin Jackson matchup where OC entered 7-for-21 and went 0-for-4, OC is 3-for-7 with a HR against Francis.

FWIW, Hannahan's 1-for-2.

Would suck to see Kipnis go so early. Witness the Kipnis sounded like it would stick around for a while. If it brings us a RH bat.. gotta do it. Risky trade for possibly a rent-a-player; biggest risk is not taking one. If Kipnis develops into an all-star down the road :pb: . Been there, felt that before

People, I wouldn't read too much in to Kipnis and Chisenhall sitting. Trading them downgrades us at another position after we just answered one. They're far more likely to move White/Pomeranz and Phelps plus other prospects.

Kip and Chiz are sitting because it's a left handed pitcher on the mound who is 70 points better in opponent's batting average when facing lefties. Let alone the .575 OPS against Al mentioned.

But conspiracy theories are much more interesting than sitting vs. lhp's.

Where's LaPorta tonight? Just curious. Not that I miss him but righty and not playing? Hmmmm.

Let's make it challenging on this offensively challenged offense and play from behind from Jump Street. Cool?

Excellent.

I wasn't going to say anything and he can still bounce back, but would it surprise anyone if CC is sent back to Columbus at some point, if not this season...next? He's just not in command and hasn't been since the Yankees series, for the most part. I still wonder about this kid. No doubt, bright future, but he may be going into a major slump. This is why adding an arm makes more sense to me today than it did 2 days ago.

I trust you then. If one or both are traded, will you print this out and eat it for dinner? I hear paper tastes good with Ragu.

Another game that got ugly fast. Guess it's because Carrasco appears to be throwing batting practice. Think I'll pretend I'm in the British Isles and start drinking. :hic: It's a little too early Stateside time for me - maybe my plan could be a work-around. ;-) ;)

So, Santana fumbles around awkwardly at 1B, is terrible as a catcher....I can only imagine what he looked like at 3B. He just has no coordination in the field.

AC since break: 11-for-53
Hafner since break: 10-for-43
Santana since break: 9-for-47

Pretty clear why we aren't scoring runs.

Can only watch Gameday on MLB.com, and that pitch looked like it was in Butler's ear after the grandslam.

Are you fcking kidding me!?

And I knew that was coming. The scene from major league was going thru my head as soon as he was in his windup. I said to myself, "Let's see how he reacts."

This is gonna end most certianly with 5-6 guys being tossed.

Carrasco, grow up, son. You might need to spend some time in Columbus, yet. What an asshole.
