When the Pirates were good in 1990ish (barry bonds), lots of them were Browns fans. Trust me on that. Did those people become 1990s Indians fans?

Edit- in 1990, I was exiting a parking garage in Cincinnati after a Reds/Pirates game. A group of Pirate-clad people were waiting for me to pass before proceeding on the sidewalk, I slowed down and looked them in the eye and said, "Go Browns". They were surprised- took a breath and cheered (which surprised me- brothers in arms!). Maybe were WV folks, or near there. Prolly Steeler fans now- or at least their kids are. Thanks to Art Modell.

I reside here in pittsburgh. It's funny to see all the cars that only have 2 bumperstickers the last several years slowly coming around to the third one. The frontrunning here is very transparent.

But the only reason the pirates are hanging around is the same reason the Tribe is. The NL central might be worse than the AL central and that's saying something. The Tribe did sweep the Bucs this year and were 5-1 against the reds. The pirates might finish in second place AND still keep their sub .500 streak intact.

They are making strides though and should be competitive the next 5 years with their current club and the 3 possible FOR pitchers they have drafted the last 2 years.

You can ride to Pittsburgh on MegaBus for $1 each way. That's cheaper than an RTA ride to the Pro, and much cheaper than parking. I've been wanting to see what all the commotion is about with PNC Park, might have to take a Sunday and go on a roadie.

Or do a night game and spend the night next door in the casino.

$1 to Pittsburgh is still overpriced. And the Pirates still suck, and you were still wrong. They're beating Houston at a .750 clip and they're .500 against everyone else. Throw in their 6-3 record against the Cubs who are also brutal, and they're below .500 against real teams. You'd really rather have their roster/farm system than ours?

I've never been to a modern National League park. Been to a couple of the round multi-purpose artificial turf mosoleums, but nothing new. And PNC is suppose to be the nicest.

The Reds are in town in late August and in September for weekend series. Might have to cruise on over there. If my Tribe tix aren't for those weekends.

I THOUGHT it was fairly simple. Why would anyone use another team as an example of how inactive your team is, if you didn't think the other team was making strides? And they were/are. And we weren't in May 2010.

I saw the error in that assumption very early and tried to switch over to another small market team.

But that's not how it works on this forum, some just want to pile on with their misconceptions, and they cannot put together a take without attacking you. And when they're wrong, they can't admit that without ruining their insecure bully persona.
