Oversigning over in the SEC?

These coaches are so completely full of shit....as if anyone is actually removing the option of greyshirting.....they are only losing the right to pull the bait and switch on a kid. Gonna be a LOT tougher to sell a greyshirt than it is to bullshit a kid by saying they is only a slight chance you MAY greyshirt.

Is this "greyshirt" a SEC thing, or does it happen in all of the power confrences?

Nothing wrong with a greyshirt, it can be offered anywhere.

Not the way the SEC coaches use it...

Teams that typically offer greyshirts do it from the outset with players. SEC coaches purposefully wait until after signing day and begin to "divy" out schollies. It's a bullshit move and needs to be police one way or another.
Playing here is the closest thing to heaven. Really, I mean it's amazing to be in a place where the fans truly cherish their football team and stick behind them win or lose. We players love them, too. I feel a sense of accomplishment playing here, we are a special breed of football players with a great opportunity." ~ tOSU LB Brian Rolle

Well that was my point in the first post. Nothing wring with a greyshirt, it's coaches Lying about your offer status that's a problem. So ridiculous to listen to these coaches pretend that someone just cut opportunity for kids by removing thier ability to bullshit kids about that

I find the ages old practice of OSU Fan screaming SEC Oversiging delightfully amusing now.

Going to have to seperate my cheering for OSU sports from support OSU Nation for the foreseable future, that much I've come clear with through this whole ordeal.

You do know the SEC oversigning was discussed at the annual SEC coaches conference this week, right? Hell, Spurrier just brought up paying players today...

It has also been a hotbed college football issue for about the past 3 years.

And has been one of the first things OSU fans have turned to after getting blown out by Florida and LSU to demonstrate how the SEC cheats and Tressel does things right.

That may be true, but it's beside the point. What are your thoughts on SEC oversigning?

More like a big ten thing rather than a OSU thing. And despite how much you dislike OSU shill justification for losing to the SEC, it doesn't invalidate the argument that oversigning is something that should have no place in college football.

OSU didn't lose to UF and LSU because of over signing, they lost because OC their own recruiting failings.
