You should hit a medieval torture museum some time. There's one where the put you in a casket with partitions, then put rats in each of the partitions one at a time, so the rats eat your feet first, then your legs, then your naughty bits, you get the picture.

Another where they strap you to a big barrel with spikes sticking out of it then roll the barrel down a hill.

Not to mention the Iron Maiden.

If those medieval dickweeds spent half the time on technology as they did developing torture devices, we'd have had flying cars in 1800.

Edward I was the one who made Hanging, Drawing, and Quartering the standard practice for treason.

Money makers who were guilty of debasement of the money had their hand cut off and then they were castrated.

After a cook failed to poison Bishop Fischer (possibly on the order of Thomas Cranmer), Henry VIII made be boiled alive the standard punishment for servants who poisoned their masters.

Hooked...

Seems to me, the women hold a lot of power in this show and the men are blind to it:

-Ya got the pimped out sister who looks like she might control the gargoyle dude

-The queen who wants her son or bro to take over the crown and pretty much controls the king

-The young daughter beats up on the other kids/siblings

-The older daughter sees her chance to get to the throne

-Ned's wife is another badass

Definetly must see TV. Great style and flow so far. Makes me want to give the books another read.

I have not read the last one since it was only suppose to be half of a book. However I never read a series before that would smack you in the gut (or other body part) so hard that it would leave your head spinning afterwards. The books are truly a great read.

That prince is a real cunt and I hope he gets what's coming to him. It looks like Daneries is trying to tame the beast, cowgirl style. With Bran awake it only seems a matter of time before the incest twins are outed, plus Ned's wife found the hair and the inept assassin( that was a great death too, the wolf is badass) and his fancy pants dagger. The midget taint so bad, he's one of the best acted characters on the show. I want a wee bit more of what goes on at The Wall, which I assume is coming.

And there's gonna be dragons, I just haven't worked out how yet.

That scene where Tyrion kept bitchslapping the prince, obviously just because he knows Joffrey is a little pussy and that he could get away with it, was priceless.

Better than episode 1, I'll give it that. That buys it another week which I know is critical to them at HBO. They were likely waiting for my endorsement but I'm still on the fence.

You should dig this show, with the ale drinking and all.

What has you on the fence? Is it the midget? I bet it's the midget. Shit is going down, dawg. We got spooky monsters, swords, tittaaaays, wolves, blood, beards, and that sweet sweet incest.

What more could you want?

The midget is my favorite character so far. Is the Queens other brother (and lover) supposed to be a bad-ass? It seems like they are playing him out to be. If so, I can't wait for him to get his. Sister fucking faggot!

He is. He's the Kingslayer - he killed the previous King, despite the fact that he was part of the King's sworn personal guard.

It was fanatasic. The midget is my favorite character, great actor. I don't believe he had anything to do with the attempt on Bran's life. I can almost see Albino man's death coming, it better be glorious.

Oh and Arrya's sword teacher is great.

Yeah, I'm still all in. Love it so far. Again, though, it's up my alley so I don't know how it would be coming off to dudes like Peek for who it really ain't their thang.

CDT - that sword fighter teacher guy is pretty cool. And I love Dinklage in this. I loved him in everything I've seen him in. Well, except Nip Tuck, but that show completely sucked by the time he arrived anyway.

I'm still watching it. Glad I decided to check out the 2nd episode because it was much better than the first and kind of rekindled my interest.

Not my genre but I'll watch anything that's well-done and I can't complain yet about this.

From most of the critics I've read that saw the first six episodes, most are in agreement that the first and third episodes are the slowest of the six as they spent a lot of time on character development.

Even so, it was a very good episode, and if #3 was the "weakest", I can't friggin wait for the rest of them.

So how does a ten episode season introduce and make you GaF about 200 characters?

Just good enough to keep me episode to episode and dvr it if I can't see it first showing.

But I'm not planning Sundays around it.

Can someone tell me who was the knight that got killed in the joust with fancy silver armor gay guy? At first I thought it was Lassiter the sister fucker, but I just watched him square off with Ned (who probably needs a couple of aspirin with his grog this morning) so I'm not sure if it was anyone of consequence. :loadof:

If I'm not mistaken, it was a former squire who is suspected of poisoning the former Hand Jon Arryn. He was killed before Ned had a chance to question him.

I think.

The book geeks would be the people that actually read?

I don't care how old he is, it was wrong in the book and I'm sure it was wrong on TV. One might say that Lady Arryn isn't all there.

Wow. Hiko was right about Viserys' death. Pretty effin cool, I was sure the exiled dude was gonna knife him in the tent over the eggs. There also seems to be an serious amount of neck wounds in the show. Which is cool, kinda missed the Wall in the last two episodes.

And i'm calling it, somehow Daenerys will use her immunity to fire to hatch the dragon eggs.

Is he dead already? A pity.

I checked the death out on Youtube. Looked sufficiently painful. I expected more boiling skin, but that's nitpicking.

The series is about 6 episodes in, right? Of 10? Who else is dead at this point?

I have an odd feeling Ned might not make it, but he's the main character and he has to stick around, right? I'm probably waaaay off, and I hope I am, Sean Bean is a good actor and I like his character.

At the very least they're gonna have to flee King's Landing and I hope Arrya's dance teacher goes with them.

Still not sure where they're going with the Hound vs the Moutain.

Another excellent episode.

The girl on girl scene was very solid, even if Little Finger ruined it with his stupid narration. I can't wait for the Darthracky to land in King's Landing.

Without Little Finger's narration that scene is on Cinemax friday night around 11:30. With slightly less production quality.

Ned is in a heap of trouble.
Who will come to his rescue now...his wife?
Who will be the "rightful" heir to the throne?
Are all of Robert's bastards out of the running?
When are the white creatures going to show up and raise havoc?
Is the bastard on the wall stuck now washing clothes for a living?

Beats the shit out of me....but I'll be watching!

Finally caught up on this since The Killing makes me want to kick babies.

That tongue ripping out slaughter last night was absolutely awesome.

This show hasn't really made me invested in anything (they are trying to cover so much ground it's not possible), or to really give an eff about any of the characters, but it does some damn cool things.

Like a tongue being ripped out of a slit throat.

That was cool.

That fight scene was complete BadAssery at its finest.

Gotta agree that this is a strange series in regard to the fact that I don't want to miss it, but I also realize that I really don't care who lives or dies in this thing, other than Tyrion the Imp (which means he's surely about to die).

I kind of hope Ned makes it...but he's so damn naive and goody-two-shoes that you almost want himn to pay for being so dense.

I am looking forward to the WonderDoggieStyleTwins biting the dust...maybe in a scene that would be at least half as awesome as the "crowning" in Viserys Targaryen by Drogo.

What the hell was the deal with the fat pasty naked guy running out of the woods with his giant dong flapping about?
According to my sources CDT farts in the tub and bites the bubbles.

Sorry about that, I took a wrong turn out of the shower when I was on set.

Does anybody else see a keen resemblance between the Amazing Throat Slit Tongue-Remover Dude and a Klingon?

Bad Assery indeed!

Wow, tough break for Ed Stark. Can't wait to see Jamie Lannister burn. Another great episode.

Damn.

Just...damn.

I understand that this follows the books, but I made it a point not to check those out so I didn't know what was going to happen...and is that ever an understatement.

I know it's an ensemble piece, but they didn't kill of Jack Shepherd in the next to last episode of season one of Lost.

Have no idea what to expect next week on the finale...except the unexpected.
